Good. lol She's over-saturated enough as it is.
But would've been nice if Husk were here. I can't wait until we start getting Wave II books. I am anxious for the missing GenX cast to be on a team -Monet, Synch, and Skin. And since status quo is god,, put Monet back with Synch. Least that was a good pairing.

Is there anyone here that would be cool with some guy killing you because he promised to make a copy of you with his brain Xeroxer? The biggest implication in this status quo is being willfully ignored and that is fascinating to me.
Most of yall never watched the Hannah Montana episode of Black Mirror and it shows.
Well, in short, when a TV starlet is realizing she is being left to die because her guardian has a copy of her, she naturally decides that herself dying and being copied isnt the same thing as her staying alive. This story treats such a situation as if no one would think that way when, really, everyone would.
No one is hitting on this for the same reason Black Mirror episodes are uncomfortable: they hit too close to reality. A lot of what goes on in the 616 would be absolutely terrifying if it actually happened to you. Comics are escapism, and dragging the real world into them is frightening.
Face it, if any people on here suddenly had useful offensive powers and found themselves in the 616, most would be sobbing wrecks of extreme emotional trauma the first time they killed someone even if that person was evil. We don't see the consequences of these fantasy adventures for a reason.
Hell, it's why I love the Venture Brothers. It's a good look and what people would actually end up as if the 616 was real: alcoholic, maladjusted wrecks of barely functioning adults.
Agree - I'm not a practising Catholic but I came from that background and I would not be gung-ho about heading into a suicide mission just because there are resurrection protocols - the concept of the soul is based on faith and is untouchable - how would I know I will get reborn with my soul, rather than merely my memories?
Not only that - how would I know the 5 would be intact and still capable of bringing me back after I die? Real world folks would definitely not feel emboldened by the "likelihood" of the 5 being able to resurrect you with your soul intact - and without any of that memory tampering which Xavier has done so many times before.
"This is starting to sound like a bad comic book plot"
-Spider-man
“Evil is evil...lesser, greater, middling, it's all the same."
-Geralt of Rivia
Yay for Sonet! Can't use MSynch anymore. lol
There's room for a lot of nice build-up as they reconnect. How Monet reacts to having back the only man she ever had an intimate relationship with & first person she ever truly vulnerable with. And Synch has potential to be fleshed out in general. The use of his powers. What he can remember before his death. How he feels seeing Monet again. etc.
That's the only pairing I would really love at the moment. I'm indifferent or hateful of all the other pairings Marvel wants to keep giving us.

I don't get all this talk of a soul when to me it is obvious the soul exists in what we define as "our mind" which again is the stuff (our memories including memories of our experiences and things we care about ,etc) are all stored in our brains. So if you have your biological body which includes your brain and your mind is restored (due to a backup or transfer or whatever) then that makes "you", you. Like Hickman talked about in his X-men Monday interview there are so many different ways in comics to be resurrected. This is just one of them.
When the Phoenix restores someone back to life do we discuss if the "soul" is back? Perhaps the mind/soul goes to the astral plane or a place like the White Hot Room, or however an afterlife is defined in Marvel. Still what the soul is, is highly subjective even in the Marvel Universe where one is assume and taken for granted.
It is an interesting discussion, and it sounds like Hickman will address some of this complicated issues in an upcoming book. They will address resurrection issues and problems. I hope it doesn't lead to more worrying that our fav characters are pod people clones and not the real deal.
