I wanted to include New Frontier, but it's such a direct adaptation that wouldn't it kind of be cheating?

So many of them but here are a few that deserve mention.
JLAS Wally. YJ is a close second.
Christopher Reeve as Superman.
Tom Welling as Clark Kent/Kal El.
Alfred in BTAS.
Tom Clancy as Lex Luthor.
Lois Lane has had so many great versions, Margot Kidder, Teri Hatcher, Erica Durance. But my favorite would have to be Dana Delaney in STAS.
Hal Jordan in First Flight.
Supergirl n JLU.
Mark Hamil as Joker.
John Wesley Shipp as Barry Allen.
Perry White and Jimmy Olsen in George Reeves Superman.
Ronnie Raymond and Prof. Stein as Firestorm in The Flash were near perfect.
Hawkman, Dr Fate, Zatanna and Stargirl were amazing in Smallville.
All I got for now.
My name is Wally West. I"m the fastest man alive. I"m the Flash.
Favorite Heroes - 1-Flash/Wally West, 2-Superman, 3-Green Lantern/Hal Jordan, 4-Nightwing, 5-Hawkman, 6-Firestorm, 7-Supergirl/Linda Danvers, 8-Zatanna, 9-Robin/Tim Drake
I think adaptation changes things irrevocably. Jeremy Sisto wasn't voicing Batman when I first read New Frontier, so the animated version was a completely different character for me to the point that, when I re-read New Frontier, that's Batman's voice now.
However, Cooke's comic is so much more vast and epic, I consider them to different things. For instance, I don't consider the animated Dark Knight Returns, and Year One to be any good at all, despite being incredibly faithful to the comic.
Meanwhile, Superman/Batman Public Enemies managed to actually give the story a better ending than the comic had
I don't think I can pick a favorite Lois Lane either. Kidder, Hatcher, Delany, & Durance are my Mount Rushmore of Lois though!
Doom Patrol's Cyborg for sure (all the DCU Doom Patrol actually)
JL/JLU's John Stewart
Arrow's take on Prometheus
Young Justice's Aqualad
THE SIGNAL (Duke Thomas) is DC's secret shonen protagonist so I made him a fandom wiki
also, check out "The Signal Tape" a Duke Thomas fan project.
currently following:
- DC: Red Hood: The Hill
- Marvel: TBD
- Manga (Shonen/Seinen): One Piece, My Hero, Dandadan, Jujutsu Kaisen, Kaiju No. 8, Reincarnation of The Veteran Soldier, Oblivion Rouge, ORDEAL, The Breaker: Eternal Force
"power does not corrupt, power always reveals."
Nice list! John Wesley Shipp is criminally underused in the modern Flash show.
I don’t know how I could have forgotten about Stargirl, Hawkman, and Dr. Fate in Smallville as that episode was one of my favorites, but you are right those iterations of the characters was amazing!
AKA FlashFreak
Favorite Characters:
DC: The Flash (Jay & Wally), Starman- Jack Knight, Stargirl, & Shazam!.
MARVEL: Daredevil, Spider-Man (Peter Parker), & Doctor Strange.
Current Pulls: Not a thing!
Hmm....
OK.
Superman - Christopher Reeve. My runner up choice may surprise you - Tom Welling! Yep, I loved Smallville back in the day!
Batman - Kevin Conroy. Runner up - Ben Affleck. Yeah the films weren't great but he was. At least in BvS.
Wonder Woman - Gal Gadot
Aquaman - Jason Momoa
The Flash - Grant Gustin
Green Lantern - Nathan Fillion

Each had good moments as Lois, but for me considering the length of her tenure and how well she was able to consistently deliver a character that "felt" like Lois, I'm going with Durance. Especially when they darkened her hair (big fan of the swept bang too )

Batman - Overall, the DCAU Kevin Conroy version. I mean, he's Batman.
Batsuit - But Batman has never looked better than the nu52 nuDCAU, whatever we're calling it. From JL War onwards. Batman v Superman is a close second.
Batcave - Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Shame we'll never get to see that version of the cave again.
Joker - Hamill, followed by Ledger, followed by DiMaggio. Eagerly anticipating the new Joker movie though.
Superman - Christopher Reeve, all these years later and Superman The Movie is still the best Superman.
Supersuit - But the duds were better in the DCEU, Man of Steel. No trunks!
Clark Kent - Seconding whoever said Dean Cain.
Lois Lane - DCAU, Dana Delaney. Second place has to go to those YA novels by Gwenda Bond.
Supergirl - the show might be flawed, but Melissa Benoist is flawless as the character.
Lex Luthor - There's no topping the DCAU guy. From evil businessman to mad scientist, this Lex was best. Animated All Star Superman Lex was a nice second though.
Brainiac - Krypton, amazing visual.
Wonder Woman - Close call between Gal Gadot and Lynda Carter, but Carter pulls out the win.
Wonder Suit - But Gal's was the better costume.
