And Wilson all buts spells right out that Diana uses no more force than she deems absolutely necessary.

Easy about non earth elements ? Diana has survive those in her history. So when she looks like she is having trouble it’s more because she is holding back? I’m talking about her having trouble with holding two people in that storyline with her protecting that dictator

JUST when I thought GWW was showing what a powerhouse Wonder Woman really is...

...she once again HAS TO BE SAVED BY SOMEONE WHO SOLVES THE PROBLEM FOR HER.

I was ready to give this at least 4 stars, but the last few pages torpedoed that.

And why is Antiope missing? Didn't we just see her in Man's World with the Banas?
If ten years of recording The Young and the Restless for my mother have taught me anything, it's that characters in serial dramas are always happily in love...until they're not

No that was Atalanta, as far as I know Antiope was murdered and has only been seen in flashbacks since early Perez.

    Ah, okay.

It still only gets 2 stars from me. I actually dropped an f-bomb of disappointment when Maggie turned up to control the big giant.

And while it’s great to see Diana cut loose like that, if these Elementals can own Giganta then why is she even a threat to Wonder Woman? Diana should just be one-shoting her every fight.

Nor does the reason for bringing Giganta make any logical sense. “I’m afraid of hurting them, so I’ll bring my less durable assistant along because for some reason I suddenly can’t control how hard I hit things and I might make them hurt and feel pain.”

Hello, it’s a FIGHT. You're a warrior. Of COURSE people will get hurt.

So now instead off having a Wonder Woman whose power levels are too low, we have one who can’t control the powers she’s had for years. It’s either live taps or killing things?

Is it too much to hope for a Wonder Woman who is powerful AND competent?

I think we know for sure now, that this will be gww's way to handle her in this run. She said it took her 8 issues to start getting Diana's voice. We are 11 issues in. And her Diana is either weak or lacking in competence.

As for Giganta. Wasn't she one-shotted by Diana in the previous run? If Diana can easily beat multiple of these giants easily that give Gigannta trouble, then she should continue to one-shote Giganta. gww hasn't been doing a good job showing the power of her villains either. And you know what they say. Heroes are as good as their villains.

Previously in Wonder Woman, Diana is constantly upstaged by her brother, who is given a powerful magical artifact by the gods that he uses to save her.

And this month in Wonder Woman, Diana is upstaged by a waitress, who is given a powerful magical artifact by the gods that she uses to save her.

Seems to me there are a lot of writers who come onboard Wonder Woman’s title so that they can write stories about characters that they are more invested in than Wonder Woman.

    Oh, the vegetative injustice...

I think i know where gww is going. Do you want to bet that the waitress is Antiope in a younger body? This whole refugee concept has not been well executed. And gww doesn't have the best knowledge when it comes to myths. So i doubt anything epic will happen regarding this excalibur concept being brought to the table. At least not for Diana. Who is always upstaged by somebody else.

Diana hardly had to be saved, it's not as if she were in anyway harmed by the Titan which reveals that she wasn't in any real danger. How would you prefer the power of the sword was shown?

Wasn't in any danger isn't what I saw. I saw WW pinned and then groaning when she was set free. She had plenty of time to bust loose herself, so the fact she didn't communicates she couldn't.

I think the problem is that GWW writes Wonder Woman too inexperienced. At this time, Diana should have much more experience dealing with her powers and the men's world.

I mean I like it when Wonder Woman unleashes her power and destroy the rock creatures in this issue (so far, one of the few Wonder Woman moments in GWW run that I really like), but her doubts do not seem to have much basis in the past issues.

I have not read Miss Marvel of GWW, but there a heroine with doubts and inexperience can really fit better.

    ww stomp a.jpg

She was being heroic and took a stomp she could have dodged in order to protect Giganta. She smashed 8 Titans but you're complaining she didn't smash 9, forgive me but that seems a little unreasonable. She not an overpowered Mary Sue. Is she only supposed to have easy wins with absolutely no assistance? Where's the tension in that? Clearly it was written the way it was to show Maggie's new power (and Giganta's alarm) Diana was none the worse for wear so I don't see a problem, especially when she did this in a previous issue and rescued Maggie.

    WW ST.jpg

Turnabout is fair play and I still maintain that she didn't NEED rescuing.

The votes are perfectly tied, the average rating is "Good" at 3 stars. Half of us liked it half of us didn't, that's pretty much par for the course for most WW writers.

She didn't do anything against the biggest giant. And it looked like she couldn't break free on her own. Wonder Woman hasn't had a full intense fight on her own in a long time. There is always somebody there to assist. And the way i see it. Extremes are never good. I don't demand to see her winning all the time, and have no challenge. But i don't want to see her always having help either, everytime she is facing big opponents.

I think I should write "in my case" or "for me" when I wrote that text.

I'm glad people enjoy this. I just don't enjoy much this, because I don't like much Wonder Woman in this.

I don't know why you need to mention the poll, it doesn't necessarily reflect the general opinion even in this forum (I hadn't vote in that poll).
