Now that Disney owns Fox, do you think Marvel will make comics about Fox related franchises like Alien, Predator, Planet of the Apes, Die Hard, Avatar, X-Files, etc? Would you like to see Marvel tackle those franchises?

Can't wait for Ripley and John McClane to get two solo books each and join the Avengers with a book named after them within 6 months of debuting.

Honestly, I doubt it, because other than Star Wars and Conan, Marvel just don't do licensed stuff any more. Disney do have dealings with Dark Horse, and after they lost Conan and Star Wars, losing more stuff could kill them off. Disney would be wise to let them continue with the stuff they currently publish instead of taking more stuff off them.

IDW, on the other hand, who do some of Disney's all-ages stuff, could be given The Simpsons, whose comic folded last year (publisher Bongo now only sells back issues).

They might tackle Avatar but I dread the day a Marvel writer gets Predator. It may be good, it may be bad, but I'm still wary.

Alien would make the canon debate even more bloated and pedantic.

Doubt it. All ages Star Wars and Marvel all ages super heroes is published by another publisher (IDW I think) so I think they'll go that route.

The way things are going with IDW I wouldn't be shocked if Marvel bought them. IDW

Dear God, I hope NOT. We've already got the Star Wars, and now Conan, books grabbing up all the name artists.
Namor the Sub-Mariner, Marvel's oldest character, will have been published for 85 years in 2024. So where's my GOOD Namor anniversary ongoing, Marvel?

In a time when ideas had ONE book, that wasn't a problem. But with Star Wars and Conan, to an extent, using multiple titles, this is a real issue.

I'd love to see a Marvel Planet of the Apes series updated for the 21st century, but having multiple books personally scares me off.

I have no idea what's going to happen but I'd love to see them do Planet of the Apes, Aliens, and Predator.

That would require a lot of extra talent to devote to those books, though.

I doubt it, at least not to the point of full integration. I've wanted the X-Men to add Star Wars characters like Asajj Ventress or Mace Windu for the longest time. Just to have the Force in the MU would be cool. But it won't happen. Besides, the Brood is Marvel's take on the Alien Xenomorph. Marvel has been doing analogues for so long that it's likely the preferred approach over using the real thing.

It would depend on licensing agreements, if any, that Disney inherited from the FOX purchase.

What would interest me is whether some of these properties, such as Alien or Predator, would become part of Marvel Comics mainstream continuity.

yeah I would imagine some deals would have to expire in the short term.

Not against it but nothing excites me.

They could send stuff to Boom! Studios too. Fox owned a share of them.

Yeah they used to do that sort of thing when they gained a title. Godzilla, Rom, Conan, they'd integrate it into the Marvel Universe because either you don't have enough content to work with and or you just wanna use it because you've got it.

I believe Darkhorse is still producing Alien content though and Predator has a sequel to the crossover with Archie. There is also supposedly a new AVP comic in the works but there isn't enough details to say if it even is still in production. I'd say for the time being there isn't enough data to suggest Marvel will gain Alien or Predator in the near future. I can imagine that Marvel will eventually get Predator, but I doubt it's going to be anything more than a crossover. Now Disney could take it away and give it to Marvel, but Predator's never really been that big despite it being fairly big and Alien is trying to find its footing so there currently is no real incentive for Disney to jump on it.

Terminator on the other hand I can absolutely see Marvel doing something with.

    DIE HARD AVENGERS
John McClane, now an Agent of Shield (because everybody is) puts together a team of the most Die Hard Avengers. They know their mission (even if we don't/won't) and are willing to die hard to achieve it.
