If you are a member of the United States Congress who is citing worldwide numbers without specifically addressing that they are indeed worldwide numbers, you are only making things harder for everyone who is trying to actually get even some basic changes to United States gun laws accomplished

In a world where folks getting in the way of things are using "Fake News" in order to do so, it is up to anyone actually trying make even incremental progress in that context to be right and lay out specifics.

It's not an even remotely high bar to clear, and it takes one more thing that the folks getting in the way of making any progress can use when they try to sandbag progress.

Chasing perfection to avoid giving others 'ammo' is a fruitless endeavour. That's not to suggest one should be lazy but rather worrying over much about 'giving them ammo' is spending more time on defense than is necessary. There will /always/ be something.

Either point out that you are using a "Worldwide..." number or use a number that is actually closer to what is actually happening inside the United States.

If this was a Republican tossing out a number that out of context in order to justify something, folks in this thread would rightly be pointing that fact out. No reason to use a different set of standards for Democrats. If anything, it's perfectly realistic to ask for them to at least do a little bit better job.

My actual suggestion is that her not using the word 'worldwide' is not a big deal, and that you're buying into the criticism and bagging on yet another female representative.

Sanctioning China over this would probably be the worst thing that could happen to the Uighurs. The Chinese government will just blame them for the resulting economic fallout and crack down on them even harder. I just can't think of a single example where well-meaning advocacy on behalf of an oppressed minority group overseas has actually worked, these governments inevitably interpret any activism as an American plot to undermine their power and double down on the repression.

To put this in perspective, just imagine that there were Chinese activists calling for the US to be punished for police brutality or the migrant crisis, how much credibility would that have with you?
