Never mind something like current patent laws being slanted clearly in the seller's favor.

That's not really anything like a truly "Free..." market. It's one where advantages will absolutely be put into place if the seller can throw enough money around to get them written into law.

Again, just have to politely disagree there.

Nine out of ten things wrong in the US is because of a distinctly "American..." spin of what a free market is.

Never mind that things don't have to go right to "True Mad Max Free Market..." just to provide the consumer with a little bit more of a fair shake.

Or, maybe you know, the American example is exactly why a truly free market is a bad idea in health care.

    Just sayin'.

Which doesn't really track when it isn't a truly free market.

    Edit:

    Put another way...

There's totally a valid case for that a truly free market is most likely a really bad idea. America just isn't that case.

Listen nobody expected anything differently. We all know you don't like him. It's not a secret. It just would be nice if you didn't have all these massive reaches to critciize him because of that bias. Especially when you don't hold the politicians you do like to anywhere near the same standard. Like it's flagarantly ridiculous to call him sexist and claim he only got involved in 2016 because he thought he could beat a woman in the primary when he was actively courting another woman to run.

It's something you just completely made up to justify your opinion.

That and I've seen you multiple times say "he doesn't have new ideas", which is just a way of spinning "he has been very consistant on the same ideas for decades that haven't been implemented that are finally getting traction".

It's fine not to like him. But you can't have it both ways. You can't just brush off criticism of other politicians you're in favor of and then hold the one you don't like to a standard so high that you just assume criticisms based off nothing. Nobody you are currently supporting would come out clean if you approached them the same way you approach him. That's something to think about.

This is stupid. Trump didn't go off the rails. He's the same guy who ran for President. At least with Warren she currently has power and we have a track record with her. Also none of her ideas are remotely extreme. A wealth tax is not crazy. Taxing billionaires more and closing loopholes is favored by virtually everyone, in fact actually billionaires have been saying they should get taxed more. Universal healthcare is not crazy. Most of the countries we are similar to have it.

The Native American thing is just kinda dumb. A lot of people have relatives that think they are one thing and later find out it is wrong.

    From the "Illinois..." corner...

I thought this one had to be some kind of a joke when they said it was coming up on Saturday evening's nightly local news. No such luck.

I think if you started with this critism you would have been a lot better off tbh. At least you can say "I'm a libertarian and she is too diamterically opposed to that". Then there's always the wiggle room that if she changed and aligned more with that she could be someone you consider.

When you toss out the Native American thing and it's something she already apologized for (and she did actually just believe her family on that) and you don't accept it, it just makes it come off like you were just looking for a reason to not like her and there's nothing new that could be brought to the table that could change that.

I doubt he was taken out. I think he knew that

    1. His life was completely over. The first time he kinda skated and nobody knew about it. This time the feds couldn't let him skate and even if he did somehow get off he would live the rest of his life as a pariah. People couldn't associate with him anymore.

    2. He was going to implicate a lot of very powerful people and it was going to be a nightmare for him.

It's like the mafia when someone gets popped, someone goes to that person and says, "listen, it's done for you and you can't change that, don't make it worse and try to bring everyone else down with you, because as bad as it is now we can make it worse".

The thing with this is that he was the most high profile prisoner in the country and everyone knew he was a massive risk for this and they didn't do enough to stop it.

I think the conspiracy is mroe that people looked the other way and enough gaps were left to let it happen.

Those too foolish to learn from their mistakes vote Trump in 2020.

I don't know why folks just aren't wise enough to see that it shouldn't be hard to vote for a Harvard professor who made the mistake of once believing her family's story that she had Native American heritage when the opposite corner would have an incompetent fascist white nationalist with four years of proving why he's exactly those things.

Again it comes down to consistancy. If the Native American heritage claim is something you find to be a deal breaker, how do you justify a vote for Trump who

    -cheats on all his wives
-had a known affair with a pornstar
    -bragged about sexual assault
-had a show where the gimmick was him firing people
-perpetuated a racist claim about a prior President's origin (if Warren's Native American claim bothers you, this one should be a deal breaker)
    -went bankrupt multiple times
    -had a fraudulent university
-has dozens of lawsuits filed against him

    etc.

    That's why it's so transparent.

Maybe that's why Trump never admits when he's wrong. If people won't accept an apology, just keep telling bigger lies. I've always wondered why the GOP does that, I guess that could be the reason.

More so that a Libertarian would throw a flag on her for democratic socialism and bank regulation...

Meanwhile, overlooking that Trump is running "smaller government concentration camps" on the border. Or that he wants "smaller government" to regulate what stories the press can say about him. Or...

I mean, even putting the morality aside (which we absolutely shouldn't), somehow Elizabeth Warren should be the better candidate for a Libertarian, hands down, even with her banking background.

Well, it's not like any of that had been kept under wraps and suddenly came out in the wash after Inauguration Day. The facts had been out there for all to see from day one when Trump came down that escalator to announce his campaign, people who voted for Trump either didn't give a **** about his being an unrepentant scumbag, and/or decided he was a better option than ANY Democrat, least of all Hillary Clinton. And today, those voters STILL don't give a **** and are more than ready to reelect the bastard, and will do so with glee because that'll "piss off the libs". Then there's hypocritical evangelicals who claimed Barack Obama was the Antichrist but have ZERO problem with Trump who personally broke most of the Ten Commandments, but hey, he promised to kill Roe v. Wade if elected, so that was all the Bible Thumpers wanted to get in bed with him, and they're still snuggled up with him today. That's the rub, Trump hasn't hidden the fact he's a colossal shitstain, and his lemmings love him for that monstrous defect in his psychological makeup.
