The next leader could be the shortest serving PM in history. The same problems exist - a minority government, a parliament that cannot find a majority for anything, an urgent need to start a new Parliamentary session but no way of winning the vote. An election is surely going to be called.

No Deal is Better Than A Bad Deal,

Upholding the wishes of the British people, she believed that No deal is better than a bad deal. In fact, she was doing the opposite. This is how political leaders mislead people. More so, she allowed the situation to rot to such an extent that she was prepared to see the Tory Party destroyed in the knowledge that the Conservative Party is the only party fit to rule the country. She signed her own deal with Brussels in November 2018. The same deal was presented 3 times in Parliament and it was rejected 3 times. She still wants to present it again hoping she would be 4th time lucky. She is behaving exactly in the same as those Remainer Extremists who want to overthrow the will of the British people, those extremists who want another referendum in the hope that they may have their own way. If not, they would want a 3rd referendum and a 4th. This is putting the very unity of the United Kingdom in great peril with First Minister Nichola Sturgeon ready to pounce.
When the 'will of the people' consists of putting a gun to the country's head and pulling the trigger I'd try and avoid that too.
The most logical option at this point is to cancel the whole bloody thing.

Not enough people want this, theres no plan to do this successfully that doesn't involve crippling the nation, the only politicians pushing for this are cranks, geriatrics and those with a hell of a lot of self interest.

    The Trumpification Of The IRS

The Internal Revenue Service is starting to look like the partisan tool that Republicans accused it of being during the Barack Obama administration.

The Donald Trump administration has assumed more control than its predecessors over how the agency writes tax regulations, ordered unpaid IRS workers to process tax refunds during the government shutdown, intervened to block Democrats’ request for the president’s tax returns, and, as we learned this week, buried a staff memo outlining how the agency should respond to such requests.

The Trump administration deported a Muslim man Thursday who was detained by Border Patrol even though he was married to a U.S. citizen, held a valid work authorization and had a pending green card application.
Adnan Asif Parveen said he was served pork sandwiches repeatedly while locked up in Border Patrol custody, in spite of his religious practices, as HuffPost reported in February.

Hey, remember when some people oin this board defended the border patrol and ICE?

(CNN)Dr. Scott Allen and Dr. Pamela McPherson were used to working behind the scenes, quietly documenting the devastating things they'd seen.
Children's fingers crushed by cell doors. A boy who'd lost nearly a third of his body weight in a matter of days. Incorrect vaccine doses and missed diagnoses.
Each incident, the doctors say, was meticulously noted in reports they filed with the US Department of Homeland Security. Allen and McPherson -- an internist and a psychiatrist -- are expert consultants contracted by the department's Office of Civil Rights and Civil Liberties.
Their mission: inspecting the facilities where US Immigration and Customs Enforcement detains immigrant families.
It's almost like we shouldn't be keeping people in cages, guys.

Potential Clash Over Secrets Looms Between Justice Dept. and C.I.A.

WASHINGTON — President Trump’s order allowing Attorney General William P. Barr to declassify any intelligence that led to the Russia investigation sets up a potential confrontation with the C.I.A. It effectively strips the agency of its most critical power: choosing which secrets it shares and which ones remain hidden.

Mr. Trump said on Friday that he wanted Mr. Barr to “get to the bottom” of what the intelligence agencies knew about the investigation into his campaign. He promised, “We’re exposing everything.”
The intelligence agencies signaled on Friday that they would not easily give up their secrets. Dan Coats, the director of national intelligence, pledged to cooperate with the review but also warned that the secrets of the intelligence community, or I.C., must be protected.

“I am confident that the attorney general will work with the I.C. in accordance with the long-established standards to protect highly sensitive classified information that, if publicly released, would put our national security at risk,” Mr. Coats said in a statement.

Though the ultimate power to declassify documents rests with the president, Mr. Trump’s delegation of that power to Mr. Barr effectively stripped Mr. Coats and the C.I.A. of control of their secrets. The move could endanger the agencies’ ability to keep the identities of their sources secret, former intelligence officials said.

Mr. Coats and Gina Haspel, the C.I.A. director, will fight hard to ensure that their most valuable secrets — the identities of sources — are protected, former officials have said. Ms. Haspel has been described as a fierce political infighter, but she has also been careful to cultivate a strong working relationship with Mr. Barr, former officials said.

Howard Stern: Trump's candidacy for president was a 'publicity stunt'

(CNN)Radio shock jock Howard Stern believes President Donald Trump's candidacy for president started out as a "publicity stunt" in order to get a raise from NBC for hosting "The Apprentice."

Stern, who has hosted Trump on his radio show for years, told CNN's Anderson Cooper in an interview set to air in full on Friday that he has "no doubt" it was a publicity stunt. Stern told Cooper that he has "inside information" that Trump started out using rumors that he would run for president as a public relations tactic when he was promoting his 1987 book, "The Art of the Deal."

He said at first, it was a "PR guy's idea. He said, 'Donald, what you need to do is we'll ... make sort of a rumor that you're running for president.'"
"So all of a sudden he was being interviewed," Stern said. "The book goes right to No. 1."

Stern said when Trump's second book came out, "that's when he decided to start the rumor that he was gonna run for president."

Federal judge blocks Trump from using Defense funds for parts of border wall

Washington (CNN)A federal judge on Friday night blocked President Donald Trump from tapping into Defense Department funds to build parts of his US-Mexico border wall.

In a 56-page ruling, Judge Haywood Gilliam of the Northern District of California blocked the administration from moving forward with specific projects in Texas and Arizona, saying Trump couldn't disburse the funds without congressional approval. The lawsuit that prompted the ruling was filed by the American Civil Liberties Union on behalf of the plaintiffs, the Sierra Club and Southern Border Communities Coalition.

Although Friday's ruling does not prevent the Trump administration from using funds from other sources to build the projects, it's a setback for the President on a signature agenda item that has consistently been thwarted by Democrats in Congress. Construction on the projects affected by the ruling could have begun as early as Saturday, according to the ruling.

"The position that when Congress declines the Executive's request to appropriate funds, the Executive nonetheless may simply find a way to spend those funds 'without Congress' does not square with fundamental separation of powers principles dating back to the earliest days of our Republic," writes Gilliam, a Barack Obama appointee.
