Chambers faced strong criticism from his constituents for the post and also for a response to his Facebook friend who wrote: “By giving the minority more rights than the majority. I hate to think of the country my grandkids will live in unless somehow we change and I think that will take a revolution.”

Chambers responded to that comment saying: “The only way to change it would be to kill the problem out. I know it’s bad to say but without killing them out there’s no way to fix it.”

There’s a phenomena in politics where one candidate can be really appealing in one situation and not in another.

Beto is a rockstar as successful young Democrat in Texas going up against far right Ted Cruz. He stands out and he’s a breath of fresh air. Another big piece of the puzzle was that while Texas is a Republican stronghold, Cruz was detested among any and all non Republicans in Texas and has such huge negatives that they were willing to rally and mobilize for his opponent in a unified front if they thought that person had a shot.

A lot of people don’t put that much effort or thought into context so you just constantly heard “omg Beto almost won Texas”. If Beto faces any mediocre Republican besides Cruz he wouldn’t get the support because it would just be same old same old.

Nonetheless now Beto is just some Democrat in a state who deliver for his party in a general that to survive is far more centrist and conservative than most of the traditional centrist candidates. He also lacks in real policy strengths.

But people optically saw a young, decent looking, white guy who gave okayish speeches and the media thought of it from a marketing perspective and not in actual practice and he got overhyped. Buttegieg is the same thing only slightly more polished. But when it comes down to it, he’s never been at a federal level and his policies aren’t going to be as bold as everyone he’s on stage with.

I’ll stick by my original top 4. Biden, Bernie, Warren, Harris.

It's worth pointing out here that a lot of these Asian countries only started these initiatives in response to being buried under mounds of garbage, not of their own creation, but shipped there by Western countries who figured it was easier and cheaper to dump our plastic overseas and make it somebody else's problem. And now that many of these countries have started to ban imports of waste, American plastic that was earmarked for recycling is now just being dumped into landfills or incinerated. Something to keep in mind next time any of us starts acting all high and mighty about how appalling environmental conditions are in the third world compared to the enlightened West, at the end of the day everything still points back to us as the source of the problem.
