I wouldn't trust anything coming out initially about how many are in custody as far as how many were really involved.
If the shooter isn't put down by police, the police are going to detain anyone they think could be the shooter while they try to control the scene and figure out what happened. That can lead to many people being detained, aka in custody, in the early going until they figure it out. When the shooter isn't shot by police and doesn't do us all a favor by killing themself they often drop the guns and try to flee with the crowds. That can lead to the police only having a description at which point they are going to be detaining anyone they think matches until they sort it out.
If it is multiple people involved then your right it wouldn't be a typical workplace shooting.
F these freaking copycats or whatever the hell is wrong with them. If they're so unhappy, blow your own head off and leave these innocent people in peace.
I know that's not a particularly productive thought, but I'm tired of this.
"They can be a great people Kal-El, they wish to be. They only lack the light to show the way. For this reason above all, their capacity for good, I have sent them you. My only son." - Jor-El
It's Texas everyone but me has a gun it seems so they probably initially thought a couple regular guys with weapons might be involved. We learned in active shooter training even though its Texas weapons better be put up when the cops are coming around sweeping for the shooter.
Just as I was lining up to get an autograph at the convention, I heard about the shooting. Just... goddamn does this never end.
Elsewhere, let's take a moment to flip off McConnell for hurting Gold Star Families.
Mitch McConnell was in such a rush to cut taxes for the rich that his bill RAISED taxes on Gold Star families. Now he's sent the Senate to recess without a fix and is brushing off Gold Star widows. Maybe we need Jon Stewart to pressure him to do the right thing here too.

Meanwhile meanwhile, Tom Cotton goes super duper stupid and insulting.
Many in our generation *volunteered* to fight. @TulsiGabbard did. @RepGallagher did. Where were you, @AOC? Playing politics.
And I’m surprised you’d suggest an independent woman like @Liz_Cheney shouldn’t speak her mind because of her dad’s views. Not very woke.

El Paso Shooter Identified Online As Trump Supporter Who Didn’t Like ‘Race Mixing’
Patrick Crusius allegedly left behind a racist manifesto before the deadly shooting rampage at a mall.
Yet ANOTHER deranged nutjob who took Trump’s dangerous ravings to heart and committed a horrific act of violence because of that rhetoric. I can’t wait to hear how Trump or his henchmen will spin this disaster.
Avatar: Here's to the late, great Steve Dillon. Best. Punisher. Artist. EVER!
FBI investigating possible manifesto from the shooter which starts with the following two sentences: "In general, I support the Christchurch shooter and his manifesto. This attack is a response to the Hispanic invasion of Texas"
Looks like it was another white supremacist terror attack.

I've found a video that might explain where the multiple shooters story may have originated.

Something something… Islamophobic whataboutism… you are aware that, in spite of the fact you're a devout Trump supporter, you're still vulnerable to scorn and mockery with your mentioning that ancient Egypt was in line with the rest of Africa as opposed to a proto-Arabic kingdom from some other Trump (and Yang) supporters who are going to spout bullshit like "you wuz kangz n sheit".
The other problems with this faux intellectualism is that, even though you clearly come off as an individual who feels like minorities don't get a fair shake in this country (they don't), you clearly and willingly consume the pablum that folks that Dinesh D'Souza and his ilk will spin, claiming that the Democrats are out to get you and that these boogeymen must be stopped. In reality, if you're offended at Ronald Reagan, then California's governor, calling African delegates "monkeys" and George W. Bush being George W. Bush but willingly support Trump and most likely will be voting for him again in 2020, you're doing yourself a disservice as you clearly can't see the forest from the trees, since Republican platforms in general don't support minority communities, particularly in the disadvantaged neighborhoods, which you rarely get to see these in effect as urban communities, where said ethnic groups are forced to live while all the white folk that could afford to flee moved out to the suburbs and rural areas and could vote Republican mayors and politicians to those communities, thus creating the illusion that you believe that Democrats are "taking advantage" of minorities. This isn't to say all Republicans are bad and all Democrats are good, far from it, yet you're quick to automatically jump to the conclusion that Democrats are out to get you.
I know right wingers complain about this forum and this thread in particular having a left slant, but the hoops people have to jump to justify, and more so if you're part of a background that's disadvantaged... that's like being a chicken advocating for the wolf to be in charge of watching the henhouse at night by going, "At least he's not another damn chicken!"
Curt Schilling, a man who's so brilliant at philosophy and business sense that he's still causing damage in the state of Rhode Island since the Pawtucket Red Sox will be moving to Worcester, Massachusetts in 2021 (thanks largely due to their reluctance to invest in programs and services after his game studio went bankrupt), suggested on Twitter putting armed guards at every Walmart.
That's a great idea; replacing friendly greeters or people trying to sell you on another phone plan with men with freaking guns! That's going to make going to the store much safer. [/sarcasm]
