Gabbard's views on Islam are troubling for sure, but I feel like people lately have been way too quick to cast stones at any anti-Muslim activity originating in foreign countries to cast it as some kind of global problem rather than primarily the responsibility of the militant right wing in the West. Of course the attacks by Hindu nationalists on Muslims are wrong and we should condemn them, but let's not pretend that they've caused more than a tiny fraction of the damage and suffering that centuries of British and American imperialism in the Middle East have wrought. Now, perhaps having a Hindu nationalist as the President of the United States would be a terrifying prospect for Muslims everywhere, but that would largely be a product of her being American and having all the resources of our military industrial complex at her back, not because her being Hindu would make her especially hateful toward Muslims in a way that previous American presidents haven't been.
Honestly, what were they expecting from the guy who's notorious for under-paying, or not paying at all, his contractors? One of the nation’s largest labor groups embraced the Face-Eating Leopard at the start of his presidency, in hopes he would stop eating their faces like he's been doing for as long as he's been in business.
Maybe they thought Trump would “pivot” into becoming an honest and responsible politician once he became president. Only problem with that argument is that leopards DON’T change their spots, not at his age. Hell, there are entire CITIES like El Paso that have been stiffed by the Grifter-in-Chief who hasn’t paid bills for his visits, so what made those guys think they’d be the exception to the rule?

I'm not saying he shouldn't make fun of Trump, but is the foreword in the collection of golden age comics the place for it? It's like if say Chuck Dixon was hired to write an intro to the campy Superman stories from the silver age and he stuck in a line like, "Yes, those 60's stories were really crazy...just like Obamacare!"
