Shame getting rid of his Bedminster club isn't that easy (no natural disasters, I know people who live in that area).

Still his Doral Club in Miami might also be affected.

Hard for me to cheer for that since I have family in Florida.

Trump also lies and claims more property damage is done to his properties when there is disaster relief funding available to cash fat checks on the taxpayer dime. And he's done so for years, including when he asked for $17 million in relief for Mar-A-Lago back in 2005.

The new Trump/Pence 2020 campaign logo that was announced today is a cowardly lion:

It's also a cowardly lion image lifted from the anti-immigrant, white nationalist hate group VDARE's website.

Arguably, because of this association, they have somehow done worse than the original Trump/Pence 2016 logo:

Knowing Trump, if Mar-a-Lago winds up damaged or destroyed by Dorian, he’ll waste no time taking to twitter to blame Democrats for controlling the weather and steering the storm at his resort. It wouldn’t surprise me if he actually does that.

Well this should be fun, especially for WBE:

The indicted, vaping lawmaker may finally have a reason to sweat.
Recently retired Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) announced on his campaign website this week that he had launched an exploratory committee to mull a potential bid in California’s 50th Congressional District — Rep. Duncan Hunter’s (R-CA) seat.

“I have formally launched an exploratory committee for the 50th Congressional District in California,” he said on his campaign website. “I have received such a tremendous outpouring of encouragement from supporters inside the district, and around the state and across the nation. I’m truly grateful for the many encouraging phone calls, messages and letters that I have received.”

Did Avenatti ever poll at above one percent among Democratic presidential primary voters?

Within the party, he was seen as a different type of figure.

Along Florida’s east coast, local governments began distributing sandbags and shoppers rushed to stock up on emergency supplies.

DHS Blocks House Oversight Staff From Visiting Migrant Detention Centers

Oversight Committee Chair Rep. Elijah Cummings said DHS is blocking staff from visiting facilities after previous inspections revealed mistreatment of migrants. Makes you wonder what the administration is hiding. No doubt all sorts of horrors that could give Stephen King nightmares.

Texas Governor: ‘Mistakes Were Made’ In Immigrant Rhetoric Before El Paso Shooting

Nevada Student Arrested With Rifle, 2,000 Rounds Of Ammunition In Car

The driver said he’d forgotten the weapon was in his vehicle, and school officials said there was no threat to the college. How do you forget having a goddamn weapon in the car? Haven't been able to find a mugshot of this slug, but I'm guessing he was white since he wasn't thrown in jail, or shot to death by cops.

Man who spent 36 years in prison for stealing $50 from a bakery is now set to be freed

A man in Alabama just had his sentence changed so that he’ll be getting out of prison in the next few days.

His crime: Stealing $50.75 from a bakery 36 years ago.

Alvin Kennard was 22 years old when he was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole back in 1984. Alabama state law at the time mandated that since it was his fourth offense, the judge had no other option than to sentence him to life in prison.
That law, the Habitual Felony Offender Act, has since been changed so that judges now have the option of giving fourth-time offenders the possibility of parole. But when that change took place in the early 2000s it wasn’t made retroactive, so it didn’t automatically prompt a re-sentencing in Kennard’s case.

Instead, it was the curiosity of a judge that led to the re-sentencing of Kennard, who is now 58 years old.

"The judge in this case noticed how odd it seemed that someone was serving life without parole for a $50 robbery," said Kennard’s attorney, Carla Crowder, who said it was Jefferson County Bessemer Cutoff Circuit Judge David Carpenter who saw Kennard’s case when some documents came across his desk.

What a shame Maybe it will it hit the Doral place too and spoil his plans about hosting the G-7. It would truly be the fickle finger of fate if that happens.

The Mar a Lago property is very nice, because it was once owned by a truly generous woman of wealth, Marjorie Merriweather Post. Now it is owned by the short fingered vulgarian. She probably did more charitable works in one year, heck maybe one month, than Trump ever will in his entire life. Her family's wealth came from the General Foods corporation. Her plan was to donate all of her properties (she had homes in other states too) to the government or the Smithsonian but they had to refuse due to the cost of maintaining them.

It was finished in 1927. That March, Post and her second husband, Edward F. Hutton, had a few score guests over for dinner before the annual Everglades Costume Ball. The hosts wore costumes evoking the reign of Louis XVI. But there was also noblesse oblige: In 1929, when she hired the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus to perform for a charity fund-raiser, she invited underprivileged children to attend. In 1944, she offered her grounds to World War II veterans who needed occupational therapy. In 1957, she opened Mar-a-Lago to the International Red Cross Ball, and the gala event has been held there many times since—but not this year. It was one of more than 20 charity events that were relocated from Mar-a-Lago or canceled after the president’s remarks on violent protests in Charlottesville, Virginia, in August.

That is Ironically sad. She did so much good, while Trump is using it for - what is the opposite of good?
