The most important difference is that nine members of the staff of Charlie Hebdo, two police officers and a maintenance worker were murdered in retaliation for their cartoons. If angry Jews murdered the staff of the New York Times, there would be a different conversation.

We should be able to determine that something is worthy of criticism, but that it does not merit murder.
