It's something that's sort of implied more directly in some of the earlier scripts for ROTS, although the EU has kind of ran with it, such as the recent issue of the Vader comic.

So some eagle-eyed Youtubers and others have noted a few other things about the trailer.

1-The Millenium Falcon's circular dish is back. Although probably not the exact same one, unless they somehow find it in the Death Star wreckage of course.

2-If you slow down the A-wing crashing the Star Destroyer in the background seems to have the bridge tower seen in the original Star Wars, as well as Rogue One and Solo. Not only that but it has red markings on the rest of it, which we've only seen in the Venator Star Destroyers from Revenge of the Sith and Clone Wars. So an Antique Star Destroyer, maybe owned by the Resistance or what's left of the Republic?

The trailer has got my interest. There are some interesting moments and I'm hopeful that JJ can tie it all up in this film. My pals and I take a deep dive into the trailer and I wanted to share it with you. Enjoy.
