    True.

I think it would help if we saw an image of the rest of the magnets.

I've searched for magnets online and none of the ones I've found match the print style of these with the copyright info on the front and the large white background.
They're almost all cut flush against the outline of the figure, with no room for the copyright.

    Okay...

    These are not them, but...
This helps in identifying where the source may have been...

These have a similar style: white background, not cut along figure's edges and a copyright without a date.

So, I think I've narrowed down that they didn't originate from Funky Chunky or the Mega magnets.
And they probably weren't sold at Hot Topic.

These types of sets are usually found at Walmart, and possibly other similar stores.

The date of the magnets was probably printed on the sheet (or sheets) they were released on.

    Will continue investigating.

Meanwhile, I also discovered some very interesting playsets by Ideal and Amsco from the '70s that used a similar style and design for the character pieces. But they weren't magnets.

My first thought on the woman was Mortis, Dazzlers sister who has a death touch, the outreached hand made me think this.

I've google searched, but nothin', not this costume ......so ....I dunno!

    From what I see...
The rest of the set is:

    Cyclops
    Captain America
    Spider-Man
    Iron Man

    Banshee
    Nightcrawler
    Blob

    Titanium Man
    Blacklash
    Pyro
    Angel

    Baron Zemo
    Wolverine
    Colossus
    Marvel Girl

    Loki
    Spymaster
    Storm
    Wasp

    Havok
    Hulk
    Thor
    Magneto

    Juggernaut
    Controller
    Mandarin

I didn't recognize the guy in purple & orange that's between Wolverine and Zemo, or the light blue guy between Banshee and Titanium Man.
But I suspect one of them is Toad.

This may help in identifying the others.
Note that there are no FF characters and the X-Men are limited to the more classic characters, even though it appears to have been released in 2015.

Also missing her usual skull motif, she usually has a skull belt and a skull at the top of her forehead. Not that I can help otherwise, I have no clue. Just saying I really don't think that is Mystique

    Thanks, Major.
At such small size, they kinda both looked like Toad to me.

That's why I said miscolored. Essentially, if it's supposed to be gold but is instead colored blue.

You DO love hunting this stuff down!

And now I want this tin of magnets.
Namor the Sub-Mariner, Marvel's oldest character, will have been published for 85 years in 2024. So where's my GOOD Namor anniversary ongoing, Marvel?

But the picture looked like a woman with blue skin.

Madame Masque's face covering doesn't look like just skin; it looks more like a gold, metallic face plate (closer to Dr. Doom's mask in texture with rivets and such).

It gives me a chance to put on my Hardy Boys hat.

Look up the Superman and Spiderman Playsets by Ideal (both 1973) and the Marvel World playset by Amsco (1975) if you get a chance.
But if you get interested in buying, the Amsco playset recently sold on ebay for $1488.
The listing is completed, so I'll include a link as it has the most images I've seen of what's in it. And full, unpunched sheets, even.

Edit: A page with even more images from the Marvel World Playset.

All I want to know now, based on some of these characters, is. Is there a ‘main street’ and a town library, and a long tall bank to swing all over? In other words did Paul McCartney ever play with this set?

(Unfortunately he would need to have played with a prototype because the timeline doesn’t line up, but that’s where my mind instantly went.)

    Maybe, maybe, yes, probably not.

The tin is copyright 2015 and I found no indication that Lee Publications made it prior to that.

As for the timeframe of the setting...
The Avengers aren't much help in pinning down a time, since none of them but Wasp changed costumes for the longest time.
And Wasp changed costumes almost hourly.

However, the X-Men give a better clue...
Angel is in his blue costume, Wolverine is in his yellow costume, Jean is in her latter day Marvel Girl costume...
And, of course, it includes Nightcrawler, Storm, Colossus and Wolverine, which puts it after Giant-Size X-Men #1.
But Jean hasn't become Phoenix, yet, so that puts it before #101.

So that pretty much narrows the setting down to 1975/1976.
I would guess that the unknown characters would have to have been from this time, as well.

But... Then there's Pyro, who wasn't introduced until 1980/1981.
And by the time he appeared, Kitty was a member and Jean had already been Phoenix and Dark Phoenix.
So it's likely whoever designed it took some liberties or wasn't very knowledgeable about the X-Men's chronology.
