"Nature Boy"? Hmm! Doesn't look like Ric Flair to me!

The greatest forgotten group of indy characters and concept ever created:
    BIG JIM's WOLF P.A.C.K.

While Kirby did concept, packaging design and the fantastic bold advert appearing in most (mid 70s) comics http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-KX5HsgnN8W...s1600/PACK.jpg

The mini comic (published by Mattel) was drawn by none other than Marvel's Big
    John Giovanni Natale Buscema!...

It was a big shock to see Byrne change teams back in the day:

Gene Colan cover and art by Veronica Fish's husband. I'm going with this. Deal.

I was thinking of going with that before deciding on Kirby's stint at DC. Byrne's Man Of Steel is still a good read to me, even after all these years.

Or like Nat King Cole, either.

(Am I the only person here who's old enough to understand that reference?)

"There was a boy, a very strange enchanted boy."

There as a Eisner Spirit story that rifted on this song.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

It is a good read, some of Byrne's best work. And it really goes back to the Donner Superman movie, which directly fed Byrne's vision.

I still have the original issues as I never bought a collected volume.

While growing up, I listened to a lot of Nat King Cole records; thanks to him being one of my mom's favorite artists. That song is practically hypnotic, in my opinion.
