Could be Count Nefaria. He gets around. Adrian Toomes is another contender.

That would actually tie-in somewhat with the MCU version of the Vulture.

Vulture's son was married to a black woman, iirc. Peter met her.

A little too coincidental that it'd be a member of the Sinister Six, but still, comics are full of that kinda stuff so that's actually a pretty fun idea, especially with the 'his family moved to the west coast' bit in Homecoming. xD

Still, that'd make for some fun fighting with the Vulture. xD

Could this be Selah Burke's mom? Could Edward Lansky be the ex-husband Emma is referring to?

Ah, the new/modern Sun Girl. Wonder what happened to her after Chris Yost's New Warriors.

I'm glad continuity god Gage is here to remind us just how much of a loser Panda-monium has become. And he was already a pretty big loser in the 80's!

I wish Otto would narrate true crime to me. It's already taken over my life.

Good to see Otto wasn't totally unprepared for a magic foe. He's already handled a cosmic adversary.

If it's a week when SSM comes out, it's a safe bet that issue will be my book of the week and, sure enough, issue #5 is another winner that dusts the competition.

Gage continues to write a note-perfect Otto. And is it too early to ask for a second SSM title devoted just to team-ups? Seeing Ock and Strange together in this issue makes me want to see Otto's ego bumping up against the whole MU. There's literally no one you can pair him with that wouldn't be fun. Can't wait to see how things go down between him and the WCA in #7 and 8.

Was Master P implying that most of the civilians were already demons?

    Not how I took it.

Anyway, the issue was awesome. Between the hilarity of Otto's botched attempt at truthfulness to the team up with two classic Ditko characters who've never squared off or worked together until now, Gage nails it yet again. Easily a consistently entertaining read. If you'd asked me ten years ago if could have imagined I'd be loving a Spider-Man book starring Doc Ock as the central lead character, I'd have laughed at you.

I found this issue kind of... meh.

Like, it seemed a bit too by-the-numbers, and even though I loved the idea of the Strange team-up, their dialogue felt kind of stilted to me.

Maybe I need to give it another read-through.

-Pav, who isn't trying to hate on the issue...
You were Spider-Man then. You and Peter had agreed on it. But he came back right when you started feeling comfortable.
You know what it means when he comes back

I mean, Strange saying, "Well, crap," cracked me up but both Strange and Otto have a fairly stilted way of talking, so I think that was to a degree intended?

Behind in my reading. (Not complaining about spoilers. My choice to read this thread.)

But, I really hope this is not the case. Yes, contrivance is expected in comics. But, that does not make it okay.
Current pull-file: Batman the Detective, Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight, Marvel Dark Ages, Nightwing, Superman Son of Kal-El, Transformers, Transformers: King Grimlock, Warhammer 40,000 Sisters of Battle

Generally, I agree. This stuff gets a little incestuous at times.
