So Aaron is introducing the whole team via the "Trinity".

If that's the case, his "Wonder Woman" would be too aggressive for my liking. I always see Diana using violence as a last resort and wouldn't take pleasure in doing so. His "Superman" is very Clark-like and it's too early to see how close of a "Bat-god" Nighthawk will be. Just the fact that the government as low as his Secret Service agents know his identity is super un-Bruce like.
No to repeat but another version! i do hope the theory that this is a folded version from the multiverse but I have doubts.
MArvel has more squads than taylor swift.
There were two hyperions from the 616 Microverse.
The clone and another 616 hyperion by the way from the Microverse.
Here is the other one.
I wonder if it's him or not.
Zhib-Ran (Earth-616)
First Appearance -New Thunderbolts #16- (February, 2006)
Last Appearance-Thunderbolts #106-(November, 2006)
https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Zhib-Ran_(Earth-616)Zhib-Ran was an inhabitant of a world called Yttrium in the Microverse which was apparently accidentally destroyed by human atomic testing. He was the template for the false Zhib-Ran who became the original Hyperion of the Squadron Sinister, and eventually replaced his doppelganger when the Squadron was reformed by Doctor Spectrum and clashed with the Thunderbolts.
Hyperion: Aaron seems to be going against the Marvel rule that states all Marvel takes on Superman must be nuts. The writing combined with the art is as close as I have ever seen Marvel (and sadly DC) get to Superman in a long time. I would say Aaron would be a good Superman writer, but something tells me that if he gets on the actual Superman book Clark will become a shadow of himself and be replaced by someone who is instantly better than him at everything.
Nighthawk: I have no problems with this. His job keeps him close to the center of power in the United States but still allows him to fly under the radar.
Zarda:This is interesting. This is the way writers who don't really get Wonder Woman write Wonder Woman, as a Xena Warrior Princess clone. But since Zarda isn't Wonder Woman this take Is valid.
Speed Demon: Will he be the exception to the rule that all Marvel speedsters are terrible? I doubt it.
I'm also fascinated that so many of you enjoyed the vampire story. I liked the fact that Blade was used and his characterization felt spot on. The story dragged on too long. I have had some major issues with some of the decisions Aaron has made on the title but this was the first time I was bored and just wanted the story to be over.
"The Marvel EIC Chair has a certain curse that goes along with it: it tends to drive people insane, and ultimately, out of the business altogether. It is the notorious last stop for many staffers, as once you've sat in The Big Chair, your pariah status is usually locked in." Christopher Priest
I don't blind date I make the direct market vibrate
I appreciated the tongue-in-cheek joke of calling the Washington D.C. based Squadron Supreme of America "D.C.'s greatest heroes".
You are describing the Hickman/Robinson team (aside from the Nighthawk, which was the character from "Supreme Power".)Well it looks like Jason Aaron may have created a brand new Hyperion, Nighthawk and Power Princess, even through there are already the Hickman's Hyperion, a black Nighthawk (Joaquin Pennyworth) and two Zarda[s] (Power Princess from Earth-712 and Warrior Woman from Battleworld) roaming around.....
The Squadron has a hard enough time being more than a cargo-cult Justice League, without being on the same world as the Avengers.Geez... how many of these guys do we want litering the MU? Hyperion might as well start a corps.
Still, that aside they all do seem kinda interesting. Part of me wishes we got this version right after Secret Wars. You can justify their differences by saying they were somehow folded into this universe like Miles rather than just being stranded here.
Honestly, as much as I love the Squadron, I have to wonder how much value they really add to the comics market over-all.
In 1985, the Gruenwald series made sense because DC had yet to publish "Watchmen", and stuff like "Red Son" was still decades away. But, when DC comfortable publishing comics like "Superman: Red Son" or "Batman: Secret Identity", is there even a need for a "Squadron Supreme" to function as "the best Justice League series that DC never published"?
The lower uses for the Squadron are usually a variation of "evil or feeble-minded heroes from the derp dimension" as a way for Marvel to show how "totuly stupit teh justis leeg iz". The new iteration of the team might be following in that cliche tradition.I actually wonder if we can look at how he's writing the Squadron to get a sense of how he views DC's Trinity ?
Too early to tell. We are not even sure if this is a wholly new team or not.Hyperion: Aaron seems to be going against the Marvel rule that states all Marvel takes on Superman must be nuts.
