    It's the Danny Elfman theme and it's derivatives (the animated series).

    That's the sound of Batman, period.

    My favorite was Batman animated serie intro theme.

    I liked too Batman Brave&Bold intro theme.

    I'm a 90's kid, so Elfman follows by The Animated Series. But I like them all.

    You list "The Animated Series", but how many different animated / cartoon series have there been for Batman over the years, and how many different theme songs/music have there been for those?

    It's not a matter of liking best, but if you ask me to recall the tune, I can easily recall the 1966 TV show theme. It takes me longer to recall the Elfman theme, but if I recall the opening of BTAS then I get it in my head. It's like with Star Trek, TOS is the easiest to remember, the others take a bit longer.

    So most here like the Danny Elfman theme the most.

    Fair enough, it really is quite unmistakable, and still epic and mysterious all at the same time. Unlike the 66' theme which is also unmistakable, but not epic. I would say the Hans Zimmer from the Nolan films is really epic, but not quite as mysterious.

    There are a lot of animated series about Batman, but there's only one that's literally called "Batman: The Animated Series."

    For me it's Batman '66 and it's not even close. Not just the theme song but all of the music from that show.

    Call it a cop out, but I love pretty much all of them. I have a 40+ song playlist of Batman music I carry on my phone at all times.

    Also, how can you have missed Batman: The Musical? Lol.

    Dan Watters' Azrael was incredible, a constant delight and perhaps too good for this world (but not the Forth). For the love of St. Dumas, DC, give us more!!!
