Well if you ignore Planet of the Apes, Kamandi, Judge Dredd and of course....

LOL unfortunate costume, no pants, thigh-hi-boots and leather suspenders. (thank you Zardoz!) I guess I could have chosen a later cover where they at least gave him pants! Although I had to go with the John Romita first.

From the archives. Ex-Mutants was a post-apocalyptic era comic with mutants who are transformed to make them human ninjas instead of mutants. First published by Eternity but the title was shortly moved to Amazing Comics (which was financed by the same person). Then due to some contractual issues at Amazing the title went to Pied Piper Comics for a short time. Then later back to Eternity which was now owned by Malibu Comics, due to some legal troubles Eternity had with Disney. So Ex-Mutants became published under the Eternity imprint again until sometime during the 1990s when Ex-Mutants just started being published directly under the Malibu Comics imprint. And Malibu was acquired ultimately by Marvel.

Whew! Did I get all that right? Not sure, but its interesting how many publishers this one title had over the years.

So, technically this is a Marvel comic now. Ironic because of the blatantly stolen line from a famous X-Men cover

Marvel, how about publishing this comic again some time?

This second cover is not my entry.

And don't forget, they changed the line-up when Malibu brought them back in the '90s. (I think lining it up with a video game version or something?)

And, also not a contest entry:

Thanks. This sort of thing can happen when you're hustling to be the first person to get a good idea up there.

I initially found a cool fake Thundarr Comic cover. Or one I am pretty sure is fake.

    So instead, Future Hulk.

I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:

Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.
