I think in Last Stand Rogue simply got stuck with the storyline they were going to give mutants with visible mutations such as Nightcrawler, Beast and I believe Stacy X, but once Cummings was out and changes were made she seemed like the logical choice to go for the cure. I think it was dumb, since she was being built up in the first two, but Rogue's role is hardly the biggest issue that movie has.

But DoFP I think the main issue was just scheduling. Anna was shooting the final Season of True Blood so her time was tight and her scenes were one of the first to be shot, so I think that's why it was such a short contribution. Had they planned it better who knows if she would've had more to do. Maybe she would've got Warpath's powers, listed as super strength and flight. Maybe the sentinels would've been attributed to her and Mystique. Or maybe they would've expanded what exactly they were doing to her at the X-Mansion.

I am hoping they consider Rogue for OML.

Didn't the original cut of the movie have Rogue refuse the cure, but Ratner decided to change it?

That's why I'd choose to recut the film if I could. The footage exists. On the blu-rays.

The arc for Rogue in X-Men: The Last Stand was fine. It was a very Rogue-esque arc. The problem wasn't the arc, it was how they concluded it.

it doesn't matter. anyone who watched the last stand knows the cure didn't work. magneto's powers resurfaced by the time credits rolled. it was obviously a huge failure.

On second viewing of DOFP I loved the way the movie filled in empty spaces in the comic, on why Raven was like she was, how Charles had to go out and find the X-Men besides Beast already there, and the uncertainty and vulnerability of Charles who felt the pain of his powers and had to grow through that to steel himself. These a very important parts missing from the comics. When the comics opened up, Charles and the X-Men were already fully formed, and we had to guess how they got that way. I loved who played Trask in the movie. He had some great lines and wonderful presence, and was almost a sympathetic character, but at least convincing. You can see where Striker got his surgical experience from, working with Trask.

It's interesting. There was no need to preserve the future X-Men, or for Kitty to keep Logan alive, past the point that Logan convinced Charles to follow the plan. After that, all the Future X-Men could be wiped out, because the course of events then followed the path where Raven dropped the gun and the Sentinel program was scrapped. As long as Charles came on board, Mystique dropped that gun.

Are we to believe that Peter Maximoff is supposed to be the parent of Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in the Avengers movie? In any case, I loved that sequence Peter destroyed all those guards, very NYX Kiden-like, the way she stopped time and just walked around and touched things and changed outcomes. I thought that was wonderful. And on that point, are we also to believe Kiden and most of the NYX lost their powers after HoM? I know Laura still had powers.

DoFP's Quicksilver is completely unconnected to the MCU Quicksilver. There's no overlap whatsoever between the two film verses.

As for Kiden, the X-23 one-shot is clearly set post-M-Day (depowered Jubilee before she got vamped makes an appearance), and establishes the NYX kids retained their powers; Kiden clearly has her time-altering abilities, and I believe L'il Bro displays his telepathy, as well.

Also, while the EFFECT of Quicksilver's powers in DoFP is similar to Kiden's, that's just because we're seeing things as he perceives the world. He's not actually altering the time stream the way Kiden does (thus why he's hyperactive even when he's NOT actively using his powers). If Kiden were to use her powers on DoFP Quicksilver, she'd probably slow HIM down from her perspective, too, because he still exists within normal time, while Kiden explicitly steps OUTSIDE it. (thus why Tempus probably wouldn't be able to affect her, either).

I actually have a different theory about that ending scene.

Thanks for letting me know Kiden still has powers. I do know she doesn't stop time completely, that it just slows way down, so it hardly changes in 6 months. But I like the comparison you make between DOFP Quicksilver and Kidens powers. I'm just surprised there is two Quicksilvers in the MCU.

Kiden doesn't stop time, she steps outside it into a completely different time stream (although X-Force implied that her 616 version could develop to the point she could jam time travel in her local area. AND teleportation, for that matter).

And to reiterate: There are NOT two Quicksilvers in the MCU. The X-Men films are a completely separate universe that has nothing whatsoever to do with the MCU.
