Default Will AVENGERS: ENDGAME make $3 BILLION at the Worldwide box office?

OK, all the box office news outlets are predicting that Avengers: Endgame will certainly cross the $2 billion mark. Many are predicting that it will surpass $2.5 billion.

But can it go all the way and hit $3 billion? -- something no other film in history has done in unadjusted grosses.

These are the films that have exceeded $2 billion at the worldwide box office:

    1. Avatar - $2.8 billion
    2. Titanic - $2.2 billion
    3. Star Wars: The Force Awakens - $2.1 billion
    4. Avengers: Infinity War - $2.0 billion

If you don't think Endgame can top $3 billion, how far do you think it can go?

Also, do you think Endgame can beat Force Awakens in the domestic box office and go over the $936,662,225 that Awakens made? Right now, box office predictors are saying Endgame will top out under $800 million domestic?

This is a multiple choice poll. Check ALL that apply.

For the record, "Domestic" means USA + Canada box office. "Worldwide" means Domestic + International/Foreign (i.e. every last dollar).

I think it will beat Titanic for sure, but 3 billion is still a crazy number. Then again it might make a billion in the first week so...

I think it will make that money and more with merchandise, but the movie itself maybe 400 million under.

Oh I still see it making around 2.6 billion. Won't shock me if it makes 3 +

Yea but 3billion is a tall order its gonna have to have good drops and this movie is over 3hours it might hurt repeat viewings. But its definetly got q chance, and might be the last movie to have a chance of dethroning Avatar. But as other have pointed out to ME avatar took a long time to get there and was released more then once apparently.

like I said I think it beats Titanic, but Avatar is going to be hard to top.

Avatar's money wasn't just about the movie it was about the gimmick. It basically made 3D movies a thing again. It was something you had to see even if the plot didn't interest you.

So I have endgame around the 2.5 billion range.

While I would love to see Endgame hit $3 billion, or at least top Avatar, I think it will settle in around the $2.5 billion mark.

2.5 seems to be the popular opinion.

I don't think any movie will dethrone Avatar although I wish Endgame would. Endgame has already made more in China than Avatar did. But looking at the grosses in some of those foreign countries it's quite shocking how much Avatar made back then. Japan alone made 172M. Quite a few countries were over a 100M+ for Avatar while only China crossed that mark for Infinity War.

Still happy if Avengers crosses the 2.5 Billion mark.

Highly unlikely. $3 Bn. is still a huge number.

There might be a stronger drop-off than with other movies because everybody was so worried about spoilers, and as good as it was, I am not sure how many people have the time to watch a 3 hour movie more than once in a movie theater. I watched Black Panther twice, but I will wait for the blu-ray with Endgame.
