It's a step in the right direction, but more by being AU than by its format, it was met with a serious stumbling block right out of the gate. Yes tho, all the goodwill generated by Alpha was seemingly squandered to a degree, by the extent it was diluted to thereafter. It was spread too thin, and in the process, been allowed to dry.

The numbers are out...uncanny did 65-70000...the others were around 35000. Uncanny got a 20000 bump from wolvie and carebear clops.

I think the X-office has also been testing for some time how well limited series, which have the advantage of repeated #1's, might fare as opposed to ongoings. There's also a question on whether minis will do better when collected in TPB. It seems to have somewhat worked for Iceman, or at least well enough to warrant a second mini and a special.

Age of X actually lasted 4 months and had 11 issues

Heroes Reborn and House of M are the other 2 stories with a similar concept. All did better than Age of X-man

He is going to nuke it too. People disliked the sexist darth vader that Hopeless wrote.

I can not say I'm surprised but I did not expect such a big fall either. Even not liking Age of X-man some concepts are interesting.

The problem is that having another story with alternate realities or another extinction event (uncanny) will not catch the attention of readers especially when they already know that these stories will not have consequences in a few months when everything is reset.

Which makes me really sad because we probably will not have a comic with the students so early since the last titles focused on this theme had no return.

Uncanny X-Men took the top 2 spots and I expected this bcos that's all I read.

I expected the War of Realms UXM to sell well too.

I was right in not buying the Age of X-Man miniseries. The number of pages in the spoilers thread already told us which book is more interesting. UXM spoilers beat them hands down.

The "Cyclops and Wolverine are back!" excitement died down once people actually read the books, because the story is crap, and it's the worst written Cyclops in a long time, maybe ever. Since the story is getting worse and we now know it won't matter at all, expect it to drop it even more.

The cast is completely unrecognizable in attitude since they're mind-controlled and in another universe.
