Preference for Hawkman's love interest?

As a fan of the characters, I completely agree. But--and I say this regrettably--Hawkman and Hawkgirl are not Superman and Lois to most fans. After JLU especially, there are a large number of readers out there who I think would be just as happy to see them apart.

Again, I'm a traditionalist, and the Hawks being together is one of their most appealing aspects to me. But it's been so long since they've been portrayed as a given tandem, I'm not so sure folks like us are in the majority anymore.

That's a good point. You're probably right.

But.....I dunno, at this point wouldn't the Hawks actually being together be rather novel? We watched Kendra fight against loving Carter during the 00's JSA and Hawkman title and she dated at least one other guy (Roy). We saw the same thing happen in Legends of Tomorrow, even down to her having a short lived romance with Atom. The Hawks haven't really been together in forever and don't even really interact much these days. I think at this point, writing them as a couple would actually be kinda fresh.

Anything is better than this whole one-sided infatuation thing that Geoff Johns started that's been going on for like 2 decades now (Hawkman loves Hawkgirl but Hawkgirl doesn't love Hawkman). I'm tired of it. And it was even worse in the DCAU.

Ship him with Power Girl again or something if need be, if Snyder doesn't want to sink his boring Kendra/Manhunter crap. Just let the guy have a little bit of happiness.

This. My first contact with Hawkman was on JLU, só no need to say that I wasn't a fan, he was just a stalker. Only after I got in to comics, and got to know the characters is that I changed how I see Hawkman.

I thought Venditti was ignoring Kendra because he doesn't seem to want to write female leads in his books.

Just look at how he handled Carol Ferris and Soranik Natu during his Green Lantern run.

(I really doubt Kendra and J'onn goes that far).

I also voted for Xanadu I love Hawkman/Hawkwoman(or girl as the case may be) but DC has shown ZERO interest in having those two together. Carter and Nimue have had good interactions in the most recent Hawkman book.

I say Wonder Woman just for a fun story line.

Yeah let's get back to Hawkman and Powergirl. I want to see where that was going. I remember it being mentioned as a thing but never really being expanded on.

But I'm down for them being the characters who are just as likely to be with one another as someone else entirely.

To me, Hawkman and Hawkgirl(woman) go together. If they're going to revamp Hawkman, then I need them to also revamp Hawkgirl. It's just that simple for me.

I've gone on record that I like the Golden Age Hawks, but I grew up with Katar and Shayera Hol. These are the Hawks I want. But regardless, I want some form of BOTH.

I'm with you. But I prefer Shayera as Hawkwoman. Nobody calls Katar Hawkboy.

this pretty much. I think Snyder and Venditti stumbled upon the perfect solution for all parties. Hawkman and Hawkwoman are in the past together and Kendra is free to do her own thing in the present.

Now I just imagine DC focusing on this and then making re-reading the big Hawkman run that was all about them as partners and their relationship and all the drama even more awkward to read .
