Here's another suggested reading order:
The Road to Civil War
All those (except New Warriors) have been collected in one volume call Civil War: The Road To Civil War.
- New Warriors: Reality Check — [optional] A six-issue miniseries that features the team as the stars of a reality TV show. It’s them who are involved in the destruction that leads to the civil war.
- Amazing Spider-Man (1999) #529
- New Avengers: Illuminati (2006)
- Amazing Spider-Man (1999) #530
- Amazing Spider-Man (1999) #531
- Fantastic Four #536 and #537
The Civil War
The Civil War event was so huge, a lot of other series were involved. Naturally, you can start with the main series then read the rest. That said, you are probably here for a more developed reading order. So, here it is.
- Almost everything with The X-Men is pretty much optional here, they stay mostly neutral in the conflict. The Wolverine’s story is more connected to the rest, but it’s still not indispensable.
- Spider-man is the heart of the story, so it’s important so follow the Amazing Spider-man, the others Spider-man’s series are not important at all.
- Everything Black Panther is also relatively peripheral and mostly optional.
- Civil War: Front Line is messy, but it’s mostly complementary to the rest.

Comic Book Herald has the best one, in my opinion.
I have a slightly reduced one I usually recommend to people that has about 25 instead of, I don't know, 75 maybe.

I became a little obsessed with this reading list a couple of years back. I produced a unified reading list with a huge flowchart that showed visually how things fitted together.
Unfortunately it is not easy to post. It was on google plus for a while. I can try and turn it into a picture but it might not translate well on here.
PS
Here is a link to it on an image host.
It is entirely based upon the Marvel Comic Guide
Each list title corresponds with the relevant page on that website, which gives more context for each part of the story and how each one impacts other titles.
The coloured lines from the Civil War lists to the list on the right hand side are so you can either read anthology titles in individual story order or as a whole issue.

Well essentially the colours just link particular stories the individual headers and numbers correspond to the website. The right hand list is the list if you just want the main event with anthologies listed so their latest story corresponds with the timeline.
If you just want essentials choose a shorter list but use my diagram to read the corresponding pages on the website for the surrounding storylines.
