it feels too personal to be Macendale. I know that some of the clues fit (Ned's involvement, him thinking that Betty was in trouble, the demon angle, etc). but is he a big enough name to be the big bad? and why the centipedes? Steve Levins' brother was demonstrating some occult knowledge and power during Dark Reign. but that's even more obscure.

I think the biggest clue is that the mysterious being is a character that must've existed pre-OMD, because we know he resurrected Mysterio and that story happened around the Civil War unmasking.

What I'm thinking may possibly happen is the CentiDemon will be a new character, but will have a connection to someone else we know. Just because I'm not sure given that time frame which existing character we know about it could be. Jason does seem to make the most likeliest sense, maybe he himself made some sort of deal and became that way.
