Default Do you play chess, shogi and other countries' chess variants

    Shogi (Japanese chess)

    Xiangqi (Chinese chess)

    Janggi (Korean chess)

    Makruk (Thai chess)

    Sittuyin (Burmese chess)

Does anybody here play chess, shogi, or another country's chess variant?

I am familiar with the rules of chess. I have played chess occasionally. Today, I just started playing shogi but only against the computer. I find Shogi more interesting than chess.

I tried to participate in chess games sometimes way back during the past century, but I wasn't very proficient and my friends were always much better at it than I was.

Maybe you can play chess with a computer. I played both chess and shogi with a computer instead of a human opponent

There weren't generally computer programs to play chess with when I was trying to play the game . . .
