Default If you could make a Marvel Elseworld, what would it be?

I’ve always wanted to make a cross between “Percy Jackson” and the Marvel Universe.

    Iron Man, son of Vulcan

    Hulk, son of Cú Chulainn

    Spider-Man, son of Anansi

    Ant-Man, son of Shamsiel

Marvel 1602 did it pretty well.

Don't know if this counts, but I'd be interested in seeing a "Marvel: Elseworlds" version of...

    Punisher: Sorcerer Supreme

A Marvel Cinematic Universe where almost everything went wrong.

    1. In the 1940's Red Skull and Captain America both die towards the end of the war and destroy the Tesseract in the process.
    2. Hank Pym develops the Pym Particle formula but instead of pushing away Daren Cross later, he makes him his successor, Scott Lang is freed from prison but never becomes Ant Man.
    3. spoilers:
Captain Marvel is returned to Hala and returned to being just Vers. She never returns to Earth and never goes off with the Skrulls and doesn't inspire the Avengers Initiative.
    end of spoilers
    4. Emil Blonsky is ultimately successful in apprehending the Hulk prior to his change into Abomination but will eventually become it.
    5. Tony Stark is killed by Iron Monger and the technology is helped to spearhead creation of Whiplash and the Hammer Drones in a joint effort between Stark and Hammer. War Machine is still created.
    6. Thor is banished to Earth and Loki succeeds in keeping him unworthy and ultimately kills him and those he cared about on Earth.
    7. With no Tesseract on Earth to take, Loki ultimately fails to locate it and the Chitauri withdrawal to search elsewhere.
    8. Without Captain America, Winter Soldier and Hydra succeed in overthrowing the government.
    9. The GOTG die fighting Ronan
    10. Ultron is not formed and never Vision by proxy. Wanda and her brother never gain powers from leftover technology if its not there to give it.
    11. With Hydra in control, King T'chaka decides not to go to the United Nations and his death is prevented but Wakanda does not step out from the shadows.
    12. Killmonger challenges T'chaka instead of T'challa for the throne. He succeeds and become Black Panther as well as begins his quest for the Wakandan Empire.
    13. Hive never succeeds in returning to Earth and his Portal is closed causing Grant Ward to not become a host to the first Inhuman.
    14. With no Tony Stark and no Civil War (at least of the Superhuman variety), Peter gets taken on by Adrian Toomes who ultimately convinces Peter to help him in his illicit pursuits.
    15. Stephen Strange finds himself in a time loop trapping him and the Time stone inside.
    16. An incomplete Infinity Gauntlet prevents Thanos from the snap.

While these are great, these are “What If’s”. Elseworlds are more along the lines of previously mentioned Marvel 1602.

You had the Marvel Noir line before. Do those count?

Speaking of Marvel Noir, would it count if I offered a revamp of Marvel Noir as Marvel Tech Noir?

For those who don't know, the idea of "tech-noir" is that it fuses the noir genre with elements of science fiction and is thus arguably a cousin or sibling to cyberpunk, which is itself a sci-fi subgenre influenced by and meshed with the noir genre. With Marvel Tech Noir, it would be a reinvention of Marvel Noir as set in the near-future (which is getting nearer and nearer all the time), with major influences being Blade Runner (the original and 2049), the more recent Deus Ex games (Human Revolution and Mankind Divided), and Altered Carbon on Netflix.

As with pretty much all Marvel publishing lines, I start this one with Spider-Man, seeking vengeance and answers after the murder of his Uncle Ben by literally beating a path through the criminal underbelly of New York, only to stumble upon a conspiracy by Norman Osborn, CEO of Oscorp, to take control of the entire city through both its legitimate institutions and illegal enterprises, the latter under the alias of "The Goblin." Along the course of his quest to avenge Ben Parker, Spider-Man makes the acquaintance of Felicia Hardy, former heiress to the Hardy Foundation and currently running a nightclub called The Black Cat, as well as The Daily Bugle's ace reporter Ben Urich, who has also been trying to expose Norman Osborn's dirty dealings when not being shadowed by Spider-Man's alter ego, high school student Peter Parker, for Midtown High's journalism elective. Spider-Man also begins to forge alliances with Detective Stan Carter, chafing at the New York Police Department's focus on apprehending Spider-Man as opposed to finding Ben's killer, and FBI Agent Jean DeWolff, who's running her own investigation into criminal conspiracy out of Oscorp. Of course, since Osborn has almost effectively bought off the NYPD by using Oscorp tech to "supplement and augment" the NYPD's crimefighting capabilities, DeWolff isn't getting much in the way of local police assistance in exposing Osborn's corruption, forcing her and Carter to (reluctantly) rely on Spider-Man to bring Osborn to justice.

Following Spider-Man Tech Noir would be Daredevil Tech Noir, a fearless livestreaming stunt performer who gets a lot of mileage out of the fact that he does his stunts blindfolded . . . because he actually is blind, and is also a pre-law student at Empire State University named Matt Murdock. When "The Bullseye Killer" starts stalking his performances, and Matt's mysterious new classmate named Eliza gets into the mix as well, Daredevil is forced to use his amazing abilities to uncover just why this "Bullseye Killer" would be after him, which leads him into New York City's dark underbelly and to even darker discoveries.

Then there's Iron Man Tech Noir, which is about arrogant billionaire genius tech mogul Tony Stark barely surviving an assassination attempt by vehicular sabotage, forcing him to wear an electromagnetic implant in his chest to keep the shrapnel from reaching his heart. Out to catch his attempted murderer, Tony replaces the implant with a more advanced electromagnet and then builds a prototype muscle-enhancing armor around and powered by the new implant to simultaneously disguise and protect himself while he hunts down his would-be killer. In the process, he uncovers some very shady, even criminal, business in Stark Enterprises and discovers some very dark truths about his company and his family's legacy and history that go a long way toward explaining exactly who would want him dead.

Those are great ideas. I love Tech Noir. I would definitely buy these if they were books.

Thanks. I'd love to write those, too, and the Spider-Man one is based on an outline I've been working on for some years now.

Random one but we've seen an alternative universe where Spiderman was raised by his birth parents and younger sister.

Elseworlds and What if are almost the same but with differences: In Marvel What ifs are mostly changes in the Marvel history, changing toward new continuities; Elseworlds were about take characters in another time or contextes. But several of them were very similar.
Marvel 1602 was one of the more elseworld what if of all, also Marvel noir, there was also the miniseries Powerless and Big Town, the 2006 what if specials and the Bullet points series, the Avataar series and the fairy tales too.
A Marvel elseworldwould be Peter Parker as Spider-man in world war two, for example.

Put the MU in the revolutionary war.

    Fury is the spymaster

Cap, Sam, Bucky, DD, Parker, Luke Cage are easy fits

I know it is lost to 1602 in time but you could put them around certain battles and historical figures. The only downside is it would be hard to have major power houses unless you depowered them a lot.

Good memory, and excellent reading for every title that you mentioned. But don't forget other similar titles such as Timeslip: The Coming of the Avengers, Marvel Mangaverse and Alex Ross' Earth X/Universe X/Paradise X.
