I mean, if that's the case, you'd think Deadpool would be front and center. :P

It sucks and not worth that hype.
Oh, so you've read it already?

I imagine this will be a good deal of fun. Looking forward to more details.

The cover is not a good representation of the Marvel History.
The vast majority of the characters featured have been created before 1980. Only Miles, Kamala and, in a way, Gwen, have been created after 2000.

But that's just the cover. WIth Ewing in charge, one can hope that the anthology won't just be about the usual suspects.

I was hoping it would be something bigger than this, but I'll still buy it. I'm assuming this will be available with a substantial amount of variant covers, so maybe there'll be a separate FF one? There's a few of the older characters missing like Namor, Dr Strange, Vision, Black Widow, Ant-man and Wasp.

The logo, which I assume was chosen by Al Ewing, is NOT one previously used in the US! It's from Marvel UK's Mighty World of Marvel from the 1970s!

80 pages for 80 years done by 80 creative teams.

I love to see variety. Hopefully with only one page per year/team, we get more panels and not a bunch of full page pin-ups. But year, I don't expect an overreaching arc of any sort of storytelling. Should be fun and hopefully selling for $7.99 (or less).

What I don't like is calling it Marvel Comics #1,000. DC's books have earned their thousandth issues. The 1,000 numbering seems petty and jealous.
I'm also expecting a plethora of variant covers. I'd like to see a Kirbyesque FF one one of them at least. The Torch was on Marvel Comics 1. 'Nuff said.

It was used for later issues of Captain Marvel.

It's worth mentioning that in the article the overarching story that's being handled by Ewing is gonna involve an artifact called the "Eterinity Mask".

So his page is Thunderbolts. And Alex Ross's is the cover. Two down, 78 left to identify.

Ewing having thirteen pages certainly does qualify as being a overarching story (serious, not sarcasm). I should have read the article.

That's two years AFTER MWOM launched (1974, vs 1972). So fair enough that it was used in the US, but MWOM was first and is likely the reason Ewing chose it. He's mentioned MWOM in Immortal Hulk's letters pages.

Why is, of all characters, Creepo Colossus centered on the cover?

He used the Giant sized X-Men cover, just minus Thunderbird. There's even a gap on the cover where he's missing.
