Basically this. I find it hard to have a rational argument about them as a couple to some people here because it's easy to point to a clearly out-of-character point of canon (Piotr falling in love with an alien healer who he can't even talk to, Piotr beating the **** out of Wisdom) because they're very very clearly done not in good faith. Ellis wanted his self-insert character to pair with Kitty (much like how Bendis paired her with Star Lord, despite her just dying and being trapped in a giant bullet in space for a few years.. a trauma which was mostly ignored for the sake of shipping), and Zsaji was just because the editor was concerned about! the kids! because like some people right now think somehow it's a felony for Piotr to be kissed by Kitty, when she thinks she's dying, as he turns down her advances, because of their age differences. Because that is somehow criminal, in any way. But this is what people point to when they say they don't like the characters together. It's pretty irksome.

This is completely false. Humphries' Star-Lord book dealth heavily with Kitty getting over her fear of space.

Anyway, gotta love a Kittylossus shipper complaining about ignoring continuity so that an author insert relationship can happen. Guggenheim did like 3 scenes where Kitty complained about how Star-Lord was the worst mistake of her life. Whedon talked about "Excalisuck". Kitty's reason for wanting to marry Colossus ignores about 30 years of events. The only reason Nadler hasn't ignored continuity yet is because they're in an alt reality.

I dont want them together because, one, nobody really writes them well together, and haven't for years, and two, because is about time both of them moved from each other and grew as characters. I am a big Colossus fan, but at this point that relationship is done. I really hope that this alt reality is the last I see of their pairing.

And if we are talking creepy, Wisdom is one of the creepiest creations ever in comics, both how he acted within the stories (he is actually much older than Colossus, who people forget was only 18 when he joined the X-Men) lusting after a still teenage Kitty, and also because he was a self insert of a character because Ellis had a crush on Kitty when he was reading X-Men.

Also, in case anyone had doubts about the bias Thompson/Nadler have towards Colossus/Nate, I hope that's over. Funny how Jean is on the cover and has little relevance overall. Let that be a lesson
