I don't blind date I make the direct market vibrate
Arcade and White Rabbit used to be an item. looks like someone took the breakup hard.
After being somewhat disheartened with this story for a bit now, I thought this was a sufficient turnaround, if only slightly.

-Caroline Trainer made a cameo.
MJ doesn't appear, but Peter declares his love for her while the Vermins rip into him. He's saved by Kraven.
Another callback to Kraven's Last Hunt with Peter in that warm white void he experiences when near death. I was expecting Ned to appear again, but no dice, instead Kraven shows up demanding Peter "rise"
Curt telling Peter he knows nothing of responsibility until he has kids? Hmm, wonder if that's foreshadowing anything.
Curt went to Doc Strange to verify that it is indeed Billy's original soul in the cloned body. Guess Nick's still following that narrative from Clone Conspiracy.
Poor Peter finally does something, he has to sever the inhibitor chip from Curt to make him transform and possess the strength necessary to stop Kraven's clone from killing Billy and Felicia
Something big for me happened in this issue involving not The Hunt storyline that is happening but past storylines and involving other characters

particularly characters from Clone Conspiracy.
I was very happy to see Doctor Strange show up with Connor wanting his son inspected. So many times during the Dead No More/Clone Conspiracy the constant questioning if such people are truly resurrected or not or new souls thus new people and the debates of it all with me meantoning the importance of body, mind, and soul and what can be considered version one of a person vs a new person/version of a being on a single Multiverse Earth. To me the body has least importance but mind and greatly soul does. For me The most important and what counts as 'resurrection' for me is the soul aspect and mind right middle (Version one people get brainwashed all the time yet still the same person but influenced in a direction not of their own doing but others). So Doctor Strange conforming it's Billy's soul and not a new one by defacto means EVERYBODY in Clone Conspiracy was version one resurrections.
All of them were people that was resurrected and once more many of them died again. That would mean Gwen Stacy version 1 of 616 has had two deaths officially to her one with the neck snapping and two with her self sacrificing herself to help Peter and take on three goblins (but as always we only saw the jacket and peter speculating not Gwen melting with readers seeing with our own eyes thus door open that maybe the Centipede Being is Gwen, Flash, or any other character(s) that is 'dead' for whatever reasons magical or alien or science mumbo jumbo).
But ultimately so many times during the whole clone/made by or other matters by science and alien and magic tales involving 'are they version ones or new versions souls' questioning I often thought "Go to a magic user/Doctor Strange and just find out idiots". Connors did just that while Peter would hem and haw.
Second thing either way then would be 'go to a therapist/psychologist'. If not for identity crisis situations then just from the matters of people that suffer from near death experiences would need help and thus memories of death might be PTSD for anybody. Connors unfortunately couldn't do that for Billy and his wife as I can't think of who he might be able to turn to.
So does that mean...

Ben isn't that much of a villain considering everything he did in Clone Conspiracy? He was unstable after many deaths and resurrections, but he did it with good intensions. Clone Conspiracy was bad, but this whole soul thing makes it better in some ways? I don't know how to put it into words. I'm huge fan of Ben so it's very important to me.
I like it so far. Next issue is the last one?
For Ben I feel
spoilers:end of spoilers
he went 'Jumping Off the Slippery Slope' during Clone Conspiracy due to a few factors. Now he was tortured and not thinking straight and unstable due to the Jackal. He needed counseling/therapy for sure. I feel there are matters that had to looked into vs just doing things. Now Doctor Strange established that is version one Billy's soul thus we can assume the same applies for the others. But there are a few open ended questions and speculations. Another matter is if a person died and them Ben did the clone/science process that he did in Clone Conspiracy to 'bring them back' while truely dead then yes resurrection of version one soul it seems with a clone/made and grown by science body.
Was anybody already bodywise reborn/resurrected by science sleeping in a tube by Miles Warren and Ben found them and made a choice to wake up or everybody came about due to Ben's actions and choices.
For matters like Ben, Kaine, the Prowler where version one still lives then I think a version two new soul is born and it's like the Multiverse where there is many versions of a character but usually one per earth might live but on Earth-616 there is a special two versions existing and each can be influenced and change as a individual person by personal experiences.
We also might consider the personal side of things and clear conditions and choices. Now it's was not possible to ask the dead if they want to be brought back and the full conditions of it all. At this point on 616 people/heroes should fill out a special card "Organ donor Yes or No plus Resurrection Yes or No". How everybody was going to have a livelihood at all (things like SSN and other paperwork would cause some disadvantages).
Then the biggest jump for Ben was when he decided to go on the attack against Peter when they had a disagreement then worse beginning to kill everybody with plans of resurrection. You shouldn't try to kill others, hurt others, plus the risk factors. Plus I don't think he went to a trustworthy magical specialist to ensure body, mind, and soul research in anything he was doing. Using others as biological weapons and making them and other around suffer is a jumping point.
During his own series I didn't like how it ended him being soul damaged which then fortunately Ben got 'rebooted' in Spider-Geddon fixing that ending so no long term damage was done at all from that. I hope Peter got his brother Ben the professional mental help after that Spider-Geddon event to become better and rise up making him understand his slippery slope he did and get better.
Therapists must make so much money on 616.
It's been 12 hours since the digital release, I burn your spoiler tags to ash.
Peter literally ripping a man's spine out is the kind of thing I would joke about, but Lord Spencer found a way to actually do it!
I have no idea how he's going to fit all four of these plot threads into the next issue, but I guess that's why it's a partyyyyyyy.
So, as Nick has set up the two final bosses for Spidey and his Amazing Friends, place your bets! Will Curt die a hero to save his son via a redemption of blood? Or will poor William bleed to cause both Felicia and Peter pain and turn the Lizard back to darkness? Which Kraven will come out alive?! Where will Arcade find work after it's all said and done?! What shall Centipede do with MJ's toes?! WHO WILL CLEAN UP CENTRAL PARK?!
I don't blind date I make the direct market vibrate
well it looks like we are moving from the somewhat lighter goofy moments(not referring to the mass scale killing of course) to the real meat of the story.
Not enough Taskmaster, Black Ant, or Janice imo. But I'm still onboard.
. Spencer is playing Mortal Kombat 11 in between issues
. Billy can't really join the X-men with the reboot coming. He's toast.
. The truce between Lizard and Spidey is off (hope he didn't need those credits)
. It's not her toes I'm worried about.
. Cleaning up Central Park will be Arcade's community service after his influenza defense fails.
The soul stuff left an opening for Black Ant to really be Eric O'Grady. Seems like there might be a soul depot for artificial beings.
Nice issue Spencer. Very nice. Just a ton of really heavy, weighty moments in this issue. The Lizard realizing the weight of his past sins towards his son and hoping to make up for it. Spider-Man being forced into a situation that tests his morals. Good stuff all around. I was concerned throughout this storyline that Spencer was focusing too much on the supporting cast and villains and not enough on Pete, but I liked what I saw here. Pete calling out MJ's name as he's about to be killed by the Vermins was a nice touch. It felt like a make up for that time when all of us fans were in an uproar when Pete on the verge of death said he was hoping to see Gwen again during the whole spider-tracer story way back when.
In any case, looking forward to the climax here!
