    Happy Thor's Day!

    Thor #313 Nov 1981
    "Serpent From the Heavens"
    Thor returns to Asgard with the captive Tyr in tow, demanding to know what is going on.
    The two argue about who was at fault so Odin settles the matter by calling
    a convocation of the gods to decide whether Thor may reside in Midgard….

    Sigyn brings news of the convocation to Loki and he plots a way to have Thor sent back to Midgard.
    Loki goes to a hidden cavern where the troll Maurglon is imprisoned and offers to send him to Midgard
    where the monster can lure Thor to him and gain revenge for Thor’s defeating him in battle many years
    ago followed by Loki’s imprisoning him in the cavern for just such an occasion. The troll agrees
    so Loki transports him to New York City where he quickly begins wreaking havoc….

    The gods assemble for Thor’s tribunal and one by one they vote as to whether Thor should be permitted to reside in Midgard.

    The votes result in a tie—and then a servant comes bearing news of a troll causing trouble on Midgard.

    Sif puts in a late appearance and casts the deciding vote to allow Thor to return to Earth out of her love for him.
    Thor is set free and advises Odin not to banish Tyr for his presumption. His friends see him out to the Rainbow Bridge

    and Thor says farewell to Heimdall and Loki is miffed that he wasted a troll when the vote achieved his goal….

    Ha,ha,ha! That is funny! Thanks for posting this. By the way I finished reading all the Thor by Kirby and Lee doing it on my own. Sorry I did not do it in here but I still would like to get back to this thread. Too many things I want to do and not enough time.
    My art main influences are Richard Corben, Frank Frazetta and John Buscema. For old school comic book heroes with an edge check out my patreon

    Talking Happy Thor's Day!

    Thor #254 Dec 1976
    This issue reprints Thor 159,
    "The Answer at Last!"
    After completing a surgery successfully, Dr. Donald Blake returns
    to his apartment where he begins to ponder about the secrets
    of his double identity; Namely, is he really Thor or Donald Blake?;
    And if he is the latter, what happened to the original Thor?;
    Drifting to sleep, he dreams about going to Asgard in his godly form
    and asking Odin for the answers that have been plaguing him;
    Hearing this request from Asgard, Odin decrees that Blake shall be
    told the truth and when Blake awakens, Odin appears before him
    and tells him the fate of what happened to Thor many years ago;
    Odin tells of a time when Thor was brash, arrogant and reckless;

    Of how Thor lacked humility, and to teach it to him,

    he recast him on Earth as Don Blake.

    Script by Stan Lee, pencils by Jack Kirby, inks by Vince Colletta
