The Time Twisters have arrived. Zarrko sends his people to attack them
to determine their strengths and weaknesses; In Asgard, Odin banishes
the Vizier to the Tower of Solitude until he summons him again;
He then sends Balder to retrieve Igron from the dungeon;
The Time Twisters tell Thor that they cannot abandon their quest;

Derek comes to and swears that Zarrko will pay;
The Time Twisters summon forth more warriors from throughout time to battle the Asgardians;


The Time Twisters depart, causing the destruction of the Earth.

Firelord's memories return in full and he attacks Thor.
But Thor finally manages to get through his anger and grief to get to the truth.

The origins of Gabriel

and Pyreus are revealed.

Firelord then takes Air-Walker's remains and buries them on an asteroid near the Xandarian star system.

I know this thread is just getting bumped to post random Thor pages, but it felt appropriately timed since I've started a Thor read-through as well. I have read most of the early Thor and I'm only reading through Simonson for now, but there's a few new things. One, I've read the stuff between Roy Thomas and Walter Simonson for the first time and enjoyed them. They're not as good, but they're the first comics to make a genuine effort at developing Don Blake. Of course, that all ends soon after. There's also some good Balder stuff that is similar to but at tension with what happens in Simonson's run. I think Simonson's stuff is so good it makes me forget what I read before, but it is interesting to see his take compared to similar but different takes that came before.

Second, I just got to Skurge's Last Laugh where he stood alone at Gallabru and that never fails to bring a tear to my eye. I was at a comics convention where I asked him to autograph a copy of the issue. I told him it was the second saddest story of all time. Of course, I said that because he was next to his wife and I asked her next to sign New Mutants #64, the saddest comic of all time.

As Odin fights for Infinity, the assembled warriors of Asgard fear for the worse
as Infinity continues to absorb the universe into his World Beyond;
The Odinsword continues it's slow progression out of its scabbard and Balder
and the Warriors Three go out to defend their home while Thor tells Sif the origins of Infinity;


Chaos erupts all over Earth and the unknown universe, including
Asgard as Trolls and Giants storm the gates of the great kingdom.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Odin is also gone It will be nice to see how the MCU Valkyrie will rule Asgard in his stead in 2022.

That is simply terrible from the MCU. I hope Odin gets resurrected like so many times in the comics. I have zero interest in an Asgard ruled by freaking Valkirie. Valkirie is a great character and I love Tessa Thompson as the character but I love more Anthony Hopkins as Odin and Rene Russo as Frigga, she needs to come back too. I hope The Eternals give a glimpse at how resurrections work in immortals and that leads to the return of Odin and Frigga for a proper Asgard. Same thing with the Warriors Three and Heimdall!

It would be awesome to me were the resurrection of Odin as portrayed by Anthony Hopkins lead to another Infinity Saga in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Thor and Firelord attack the armies of President Elmirez;
In Asgard, Odin charges Balder with treason
and orders him tossed in the dungeon;
Balder calls him mad and fights his way free;
Jane manages to free herself and challenges Gypsy for Thor's freedom;

During their fight, the soldiers move to kill Jane,

which frees Thor from his spell.
