Then Amazon will buy Disney and Jeff Bezos will ascend to godhood.
Odd.
Wasn't it reported that Disney is billions in the hole starting their Disney plus streaming service to compete with Netflix? Now they by out Hulu?
Why?
They got majority stock control with the Fox merger and just made a deal with Comcast to officially run Hulu and the actual buyout won't be for 5 years. I think since the merger was announced it was assumed this would happen and Hulu would be home for Disney's R rated material just surprised Comcast made it so easy given their previous bad blood.
TBH, I don't think Disney+ can "complete" with Netflix, in the grand scheme of things. What it can do is given them a higher return for their intellectual property, which is what I think that it's for. They just don't want Netflix or other streaming services getting a cut of their profits.
Hulu, imo, is where they want to compete with Netflix.
