Default Thor vs. Hulk who's stronger?

I'd say it's a toss-up but give the edge to Thor in a fight...can't remember the source but he mentions at one point that he's held back when fighting Hulk. But Al Ewing's Hulk might give Thor a run for his money. Thor has fought Demons and other supernatural beings on Asgard. He can handle Hulk.

This might be more a rumbles thread topic.

    Which versions of each character?
"Sir, does this mean that Ann Margret's not coming?"

You can debate who's more powerful. But hulk is much stronger, and that has been the case in a long time. Without Mjolnir, Thor can't compete.

It was never said he holds back against the Hulk. There are some really old claims that he holds back against mortals, but that doesn't matter. It was said Hulk hold back all the time too.

And, yes, this needs to be moved to rumbles thread.

It always depends of story. If both characters were completely free of any narrative it could be a toss up. Both have hand feats that are insane, but both have also been knocked around by characters many strength classes beneath them.

    In Movies: Thor
In Comics: Hulk (but only in Worldbreaker or Devil Hulk form)

In the past decade or so hulk has been stronger. Apparently the bomb that blew up sakaar left him amped (which has been said in the databooks)

Also, thor losing his hammer may have reduced his potency.

But if we're using all the special forms that have existed temporarily then it comes to thor (rune king or odin force thor>>worldbreaker or devil hulk)

Yeah I'll post in the correct thread next time. I'm talking about the 616 versions. I'm a fan of both characters.

As Stan once said...."it depends on who's writing the story."

How pissed is The Hulk at the time of the comparison?

Hulk can't pick up Mjolinor, so obviously Thor is stronger.
I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:

Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.

"Worthy" and "stronger" are not the same thing.

He was probably joking. Otherwise, it makes zero sense (besides being completely wrong).

Immortal Hulk 7 shows Hulk knocking out Thors tooth and cracking his skull/causing concussion. I've yet to catch up but evidently Hulks power comes from The One Below All. Or some such.

At the moment, I’d say Hulk.

Thor isn’t the man (or god he used to be.

I would be shocked to death if Thor can even survive one hit from Hulk... literally.
