I once saw an image of what I think was a jli or jle cover. It had 3 people standing staggered with all looking away except guy gardner in the middle giving bunny ears to the guy below him. I've googled for it many times with no success. Does anyone know what title and number this is?

Check Comicvine and look under Guy Gardner appearances in JLI or JLE. That's as much help as I can offer.

Also check all of the covers to Guy Gardner's book and any related miniseries at the time, not just JLI and JLE. Any chance it was just a completed commissioned piece you saw, rather than a published cover?

The only JL cover I remember where everyone was looking the other was was this one:
No Guy Gardner, jus G’nort. The Bunny ears sounds so familiar though....!

Yeah it is familiar for Maguire, there is a couple places that make reference, that are different form the one requested though.
