actually he said that specifically about Doctor Strange
basically he would only write it if he had a contracted assurance that it would make it impossible to un-canonize
which is of course non-sense and would never happen butI dont think he mention that he would do that for any other project

Hopefully they give it to whoever has the best ideas instead of just the biggest name. I say this partially because I really have no interest in reading a Batman book by Bendis, an author whose work I have never enjoyed.

    Mark Russell - interesting
Sam Humphries - dont think would work
Gerard Way - doubtful but would be pretty interesting
Becky Cloonan - Loved Gotham Academy, lets go.
Nick Spencer - Im gonna vote no on this one
Jonathan Hickman - not likely since he is relaunching the entirety of X-books
    Gerry Duggan - not sure
Jason Aaron - that would be good but also hard to get
Jason Latour - actually not familiar with his work
    Dan Abnett - not sure
Kurt Busiek - This might work
    Marjorie Liu - Yes
    Kelly Sue DeConnick - maybe
    Gail Simone - definitive NO
Joelle Jones -actually never heard of this one
Al Ewing - also under exclusive contract I think
Fabian Nicizea - loved his Robin saga with Marcus To, it would be interesting to have him back

LoL, you think Harras could take Hickman on Batman. I don’t.

Get Priest to do a mini series. Preferably an ongoing.

I just remember that Priest is one of the writers who subscribe to World Worst Mother Talia so if he's on Batman he better stay away from her.

He’s not the only realistic one, but BC thinks he’s the one getting courted to take on the book at issue 100. That means there’s still a 15 issue gap between the end of King and when Bendis would start, so someone else would basically write filler. Maybe Robinson or Jurgens would get the book.

Brubaker would easily be the best choice but he seems to have made it kinda clear that he is done with dc comics. With that said my list would look something like this:

    1) Matt Kindt- Absolutely loved his Ninjak comic a few years back felt like the tone of that comic would be perfect for Batman-That said he doesn't really move the needle much and is probably a longshot to even get considered
2)Jeff Parker- The current James Bond Origin comic he is writing is amazing and tonally I think he would do really well with bruce as a character
    3) Priest- Probably the best current writer in the DC stable- not sure If I love his version of Bruce and it's possible his run would be a disaster because of that but if he got it right the run would be amazing.
4)David F Walker- Have really enjoyed pretty much every superhero comic he has written for the big 2, I think he is highly underrated and would do a great job
    5) Tom Taylor- He has done a great job with injustice and the annual from last year showed he could do a good job with an incontinuty Batman

1000000000) Bendis- No freaking way.I don't want him anywhere near the character- which of course means he is probably going to get it.

Bendis, yes way. Given Harras has gotten Lobdell on Nightwing and gotten King aexed. There is a very good chance that editorial's darling will get the main Batman book.

If Batman editorial is still in charge, it'll probably be a writer with a background outside the big two like King and Snyder (pre-dark mirror). But probably not since Harras has laid down the law and cut their legs off.

    I misread that
I thought it would be Bendis(or someone else) until issue 100 and then the next big one

so basically DC just needs someone who does a 14-issue arc
from 86 to 99 then 100 will be this super-oversize issue with 20 different covers and some short stories by everyone with Bendis taking over with the last one. exactly like DC and AC 1000
