There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!
They should diversify the franchise by doing Terminator films that are different genres. An espionage thriller, a period drama (Terminator must navigate the manners and rivalries of 18th Century Viennese high society to get close to Johann Konner), a buddy road trip, a romcom, etc.
My Terminator Saga is the first 4 films and TSCC.
Everything else is fanfiction on a budget.
Salvation was the start of what was going to be a Future War arc. Great cast, war setting but I blame pissy internet basement trolls for making it one of the first films that internet chatter hurt.
Everything that came after is largely agreed upon to be shite. I've seen enough posts the last decade that wish now Salvations story had continued but we can't go back in time, ironically.
Ergo, any Terminator film should pick up from Salvation back in the "main" timeline.
