Default Contemporary Marvel Recommendations for a new comic reader familiar with DC?

Hello! I am getting back in the comics game after 10+ years break. Back then I had a DC worker that was a family member so thats what I read. Dropped off after Morrison's Batman and Final Crisis.

Back now, this is my pull list:

    Green Lantern
    Doomsday Clock
    The Batman Who Laughs
    Action Comics

Just binged Immortal Hulk!! No need to say more. I plan on picking up the House of X reset and following from there.

What is worth picking up monthly from Marvel based off of my current pull list? Also recent events worth getting in trade? Recommendations welcome! I last remember in Marvel reading Civil War. I am less interested in getting all the universe lore than reading the best that the industry has to offer, i.e. Immortal Hulk.

I am liking Bendis on Action Comics for example, are there essential Marvel runs from him or Jonathan Hickman's runs that are must reads? Is Morrisons X-Men good?

    Many Thanks! And Happy Reading.

The question I have is whether this is contemporary anymore.
    Matt Murdock's cooler twin brother

I'd give the Devil benefit of law, for my own safety's sake!
Thomas More - A Man for All Seasons

Interested in reading Daredevil? Not sure what to read next? Why not check out the Daredevil Book Club for some ideas?

If you're looking for the best of the best, here's what I would probably recommend to ya from the past couple years (what I would consider contemporary):

Matt Fraction & David Aja's Hawkeye
Dan Slott & Michael Allred's Silver Surfer
Tom King & Gabriel Walta's Vision
Saladin Ahmed & Christian Ward's Black Bolt
Brian Michael Bendis' Ultimate Spider-Man (complete)
Brian Michael Bendis/Kelly Thompson's Jessica Jones
    Jeff Lemire/Donny Cates' Thanos
Donny Cates & Ryan Stegman's Venom
Chip Zdarksy & Marco Checcheto's Daredevil

And then here are some other various series I'm a big fan of that I would recommend if they sound appealing to you:
    Nick Spencer's Amazing Spider-Man
    Rainbow Rowell's Runaways
    Jeremy Whitley's Unstoppable Wasp
    G. Willow Wilson's Ms. Marvel
Jason Aaron's Thor (God Of Thunder & Mighty Thor)
Brian Michael Bendis & David Marquez' Defenders
    Gerry Duggan's Deadpool
Kelly Thompson & Leonardo Romero's Hawkeye
Jason Latour & Robbi Rodriguez' Spider-Gwen
Mark Waid & Chris Samnee's Black Widow
Nick Spencer's Captain America (Sam Wilson & Steve Rogers)
    James Robinson's Scarlet Witch
Chip Zdarksy & Joe Quione's Howard The Duck

Some easy recent entry points, besides Immortal Hulk and the upcoming X reboot:

Punisher: War Machine by Matt Rosenberg (2 trades)
Defenders by Brian Bendis (2 trades)
Iron Fist by Ed Brisson (2 trades)

Conan the Barbarian by Jason Aaron (6 issues in)
Daredevil by Chip Zdarsky (5 issues in)

Bendis' essential Marvel runs are Daredevil and Ultimate Spider-Man from the early 00's (Alias, which gave us Jessica Jones, it's good too). His Avengers is mostly pretty good in the first 5 years or so, but after Siege it's pointless and adds nothing. His X-men run has good moments, but it's most dispensable because Marvel decided to ignore everything he did immediately afterwards, even when he was still at Marvel, and the ending is pretty rushed and just sort of whimpers out (in an interview Hickman gave this week, he hinted Bendis decided to quit pretty unsatisfied, so I imagine that's the reason). His Guardians of the Galaxy is just lame.

Anything Hickman did at Marvel is amazing and I can't recommend enough, Fantastic Four specially.

Morrison's X-men has it's detractors, but nearly all of them are people that don't like he broke up Scott and Jean. His run is great, and so is the immediate follow up in Whedon's Astonishing X-men.

If you like cosmic stuff, Annihilation and Dan Slott's Silver Surfer are great reads.
