LoL, man is Harras spinning some bull poop there. The talent behind the Bat books right now is laughable. Batman obviously has no team yet and is now reducing production, Nightwing and Red Hood are fodder for the in-house utility boys that haven’t been relevant in years, Batgirl seems to be in flux, while Catwoman has Jones the only other creator he could name.

I hope so cause what's the point? They can have them married but they do their own thing kinda how Bendis did Lois and Clark in his run early in the beginning.
Also, I do wonder what the true reason why his run is canceled cause I'm hearing Hulk not or not making enough money, or making a major chance to his character. Whatever the reason I really would like to know

    Thumbs up

No doubt this will become (another) huge mess. Usually, I will give a new spinoff book a chance but not in this case. I have zero interest in King's interpretation of BatCat. I'll pass on this one with the caveat if the reviews are solid I MIGHT pick up the trade, if the series should last that long.

Edit - The time to cash in on such a book would have been after Batman 50, IMO.

No it's not. It sends a bad message to practically everyone that Harras is willing to mess them up if the content somehow doesn't meet his approval (especially when he was just 15 issues from 100). If DC is willing to do that to one of their top creators while keeping Harras's friends around, it pretty much says to potential talent that DC is not a good place to work for.

I agree this sets a terrible precedent, IMO.

Except store owners who only want Batman books on the shelf. Now they have yet another series.

The mistreatment of Dwayne McDuffie on JLA, Dan's behavior towards certain characters, Titan butchering events, failures to develop characters that win over fans OUTSIDE of comics, editors controlling runs & folks being on books that they did not want to do-were more than a big enough hint at that.

Folks are still going to come to DC because having one of their books on your resume still speaks volumes to some folks. Especially if it's a character seen in movies or tv shows.

I haven't been reading King's run, but he's not wrong that Clay Mann is a great artist. It's too bad Marvel never put him on anything bigger than X-Men Legacy while they had him. Not that I'm sad he was on Legacy, his work on Age of X especially was great.
