Yeah, forgot to mention this. Just really great fights and match-up's. It was misleading in a way, in a good way though. At the time, Joe Quesada how it would be just a punch fest after the complications of Civil War. However, there were some real weighty and dramatic themes in there like who was the real monster, the Hulk or the Marvel heroes. Great stuff!

On further thought, I very much did enjoy Spider-Verse. Never really thought of it as an event, but it certainly qualifies.
Continuity, even in a "shared" comics universe is often insignificant if not largely detrimental to the quality of a comic.

    Fall of the Mutants
    Infinity
    Infinity Gauntlet
    Messiah Complex
    Age of Apocalypse
    Second Coming

    Not necessarily in that order.

Since "Under Siege" was pretty self-contained, I'd have to say Acts of Vengeance.

Still in the back issues category: Secret Invasion was neat. They finally did with the Skrulls what the Skrulls should have been capable of all along; what Thomas should have done with "The Kree-Skrull War" way back when.

I have been reading the recent Hydra Cap story lately, and am surprised to find it better than I thought. Still reads like a run of What If...?, but it's not bad.

World War Hulk was epic ....... until that last issue. That last issue just ruined it for me. Letting the Illuminati off the hook and having the walking plot device Sentry be the hero was just such a bad ending. It was like so many marvel events of the 2000's where they just didn't know how to stick the landing.

    Heroes reborn the return
    Age of apocalypse
    Secret wars 2015
    Operation zero tolerance
Thank you for your astute observation. It is greatly appreciated.

And just to add: I also enjoyed Dixon's Doom mini-series which came after the events of Heroes Return.

    In no particular order:

    Messiah Complex
    Inferno
    Secret Wars (2015)
    Second Coming
    Annihilation
    Secret Empire
    Avengers: Standoff!
    Siege
Infinity Wars (controversial but I LOVED the way he wrote everyone + Cosmic Avenger!Emma)

If I had to pick one it’d probably be Second Coming.

I liked that one too but the second one with those pilgrim people, not as much though. Chris Claremont also did some linked issues that I would hesitate to call an event but there were multiple issues with the same plot. It showed what happened after Thor and Doom were fighting over Franklin before all the rest of the heroes returned.

Avengos: Standoff may be like the teasing and heavy breathing before the Secret Empire make-out session but it was probably the closest thing to a 100% fun event since like uh, ever.

Standoff gave us the American Kaiju, double Maria Hill, Rogue making X-shaped sandwiches, domestic Uncanny Avengers, suburbicon vibes, the Whisperer, that sexy Bucky/Zemo twist, and the birth of Hydra Cap. It was the highlight of ANAD.
