Default Saddest Moments in All Comics

Post any/all of what you would say should be in the saddest moments in comic history.

    Tissues at the ready.

    Prepare for spoilers.

It's simple, the saddest comic is Banes origins in Vengeance of Bane. And no other comic has ever topped it.

I'll add Joker's Asylum: The Penguin:

The Death of Gwen Stacy. When I was a kid she was my girlfriend. I was so in love with her. I was crushed by her death.

I’ll start with this one from Y: The Last Man. Possibly my all time saddest moment in comics.

I can't remember the issue or the name of the character but it was a story of Grimjack that focused on his pet lizard or whatever it was. It's been years since I read it but it had something to do with how he lost his family and how he ended up being an alcoholic. I remember asking myself why I felt so bad for a fictitious character.

    ^^^I remember that.
Man I felt like **** after reading that.

I have pretty special relationship w. Superboy, his comic got me through a rough patch in my life, so his death hit me pretty hard.
His final words though, were perfectly in character, perfectly Conner...:

The death of Captain Marvel, not in battle against Thanos, but from cancer, something that made his passing all the more poignant because we all know someone who had been touched by that terrible disease.
