Default Godzilla (MonsterVerse) vs Shin Godzilla

    Major spoilers ahead:

Round 1: Godzilla vs Shin Godzilla (final form).
Round 2 Godzilla after achieving his Burning form upgrade vs Shin Godzilla.
    Ichigo: What even *are* you?!

Kenpachi: Some say my mother was a train. Some say that I'm a rejected Godzilla monster too strong for the series canon. But everyone says: I'M THE KEEEEENPACHIIIIII!!!!

Shin might win round 1. Maybe. Probably by keeping concentrated fire on Legendary G for a minute straight at range. If LG closes distance, he should win handily.

Scenario 2, Burning Godzilla tanks everything thrown at him and vaporizes Shin. Shin is many things, but durable isnt one of them.

MonsterVerse Godzilla absorbs Shin Godzilla's Atomic Beams. Shin runs out of juice and drifts away in a deep sleep. MonsterVerse Godzilla annihilates Shin's comatose body.

    Fin.

Yeah, I guess he could totally just eat whatever is thrown his way.

If they start within breath range of each other (and possibly even if they don't), I'm not sure Monsterverse Godzilla needs to wait for Shin Godzilla to run out of juice. Godzilla had atomic breath of his own, and from what I hear Shin Godzilla is the kaiju version of a glass cannon.

They fire beams at each other. Monsterverse Godzilla gets hit by more beams. He doesn't like it, but he gets back up. Shin Godzilla stays down.

A case can be made that Monsterverse Godzilla is outright immune (or at the most even gets a powerup from) anything nuclear. Hitting him with radioactive beams is a very bad idea.

Shin is vulnerable to conventional weapons. Nukes in the face to the King - nada. Shin is dead.

The historical retcon that the US wasn't testing nukes but was actually trying to kill Godzilla isn't all that revolutionary. But then again, the US has tested a *lot* of nukes. Which means MonsterVerse Godzilla took them all and kept coming. Poor Shin.

Monsterverse Godzilla has epic damage soak feats, but the nuke feat is lessened by the fact that they actually end up healing him.

    This I agree with.

    1. If Monsterverse Godzilla is a distance away from Shin, Shin's Beam Weapon should do the job. Sure, Monsterverse can absorb radiation but he has a limit. I think Shin's Output will be greater for the Monsterverse G to handle

    2. Monsterverse Godzilla should win this one easily.

What limit? Absorbing too much radiation didn't hurt Monsterverse Godzilla, he simply started radiating off the heat via massive AOE shockwaves and upped his strength and durability for a short while. Attempting to "overload" this Godzilla is a very bad idea.

Monsterverse Godzilla's issue was that he was basically going to nuke everyone still on the ground. The problem isn't so much he's going to explode so much as there are people still there. He either doesn't have the limitation of Heisei Godzilla or that this threshold is much higher before he melts down. In either case on film it doesn't seem like he has a known limit.

Monsterverse Godzilla does seem like he will eventually exhaust this energy though and that he will return to his normal state once it's depleted. It's a powered up form as opposed to the byproduct of a meltdown. However it does seem that he shares the energy blast and similar damage feats with Heisei to a point. Regardless, Monsterverse is presumably immune to radioactive attacks as he took two nuclear weapons at point-blank and not only lived, he grew stronger for it. Being that Shin's attacks are radiation based, unless it's knockback is going to do it, it's not going to affect the Monsterverse Godzilla.

Here's the problem; Shin's beam, if not the FAE Breath, looks like a bloody heat weapon when it comes down to how it works. So Monsterverse G, while he'll eat/tank the radiation, will still have to deal with the thermal effects.

Now, IIRC a nuke gives off a wave of heat. This is a sustained beam which can keep going on for about a minute.

If Monsterverse G can survive the thermal effects for that minute IMO he takes it(it looks like Shin's beam has some sort of ramp rate, up from FAE, peaks at beam, then ramps back down to FAE at which point, he goes inert...)

Also, Shin's beam nowadays kind of looks like a poor man's Type-III+ phaser lol

Shin Godzilla's only real hope is to escape, evolve, and come back. Like Doomsday most methods of hurting it only work once before it evolves a new defense to neutralize that threat. However, its limited energy usage before losing access to its beam attacks and even freezes up does not seem to be something it can evolve away as it occurred twice. Plus Shin Godzilla is much, much slower than Monsterverse Godzilla, so I don't see how it could escape in the first place.

The only chance I could see Shin Godzilla having is if humans launch some sort of weapon like the Oxygen Destroyer at them which would harm them both and give Shin more of an evolution boost if he survives it.

In burning Godzilla mode, Monsterverse Godzilla was turning skyscrapers to slag from his mere presence. His body can presumably withstand ludicrous amounts of heat.
