Nope. Apocalypse pretty much killed my enthusiasm. I'll go see it but i won't expect much.

Sort of. Not sure I'm "hyped" for it, but I do want to see it do well, since it looks like it'll be the last word on this version of the franchise and I have been very fond of it overall from the past movies.

For a while, I was very pro X-Men films. I always saw them as the underdog. I wanted them to win. Heck, I always took their side in Marvel vs Fox debates, as I thought their films genuinely tried to do new things. I wasn't the biggest fan of Apocalypse, but I really liked that they seemed to end off the Charles/Erik/Mystique arc, and were setting up the younger cast, who were the best part of the movie, to take over.

Then we see clips and bits of Dark Phoenix and Charles, Erik and Mystique seem to be center stage again. Honestly, I feel like it's for the best that Marvels getting the X-Men. I never thought I'd say that before Dark Phoenix's first trailer. Fox obviously has no intention of using any of the X-Men characters that are actually central to the comics.
The younger cast was not the best part of Apocalypse...lol. The most viewed part of that movie on YouTube aka the 2nd most popular website in the world is the Magneto/Apocalypse scene.

Obviously the best bit in Apocalypse was the scene where a bunch of goth cosplayers and a woman in a bathing suit stand outside Auschwitz for a bit.

I'm interested in seeing how the movie does. I do think the pinnacle of X-Men films will always be Days of Future Past. But in honor of the source material, I took a dive into The Dark Phoenix Saga and share my thoughts about the classic storyline.

Did he just say "John 'Brine'"??

Also very strongly disagree with Jean being a "level 1" in power before becoming Phoenix as an "11". Jean was not a level one even on her first day as an X-Men, let alone pre-Phoenix.. And Phoenix was much higher than "level 11".

Forgive my mispronunciation, thanks. I was referring to Jean being a level 1 as she was originally seen in X-Men #1 (of course we know due to retcons that she was more powerful, but we have to start somewhere). And I am using the scale of 1 - 10 only - nothing higher than that, which is why I say 11 in this context. Thank you though, I appreciate it.

    Glad to help.

Thanks for level clarification. Many times, people like to say Magneto and Professor X are level 9 or 10, but on your 1-10, they both would have to be much lower, like 6, if Phoenix is at 11.

True. And the levels are always so subjective. It's sometimes hard to see how people "grade" for lack of a better word character's abilities - especially when they've fluctuated wildly throughout the years.
