To be clear, I recognize the fact that "Men" often refers to men and women. But one must also recognize that the reason for that is that throughout history males were the ones that represented evolution. Notice that whenever we see a drawing of the evolution of humanity what we see is a cave man becoming a gentleman. Is this a big deal? Meh. I'm not too bothered. But then again, I'm a man.

I do think it's a conversation worth having.

But when you call a character Super"man" or super"woman" there's nothing debateable about it. If they are male than they will be Superman. If they are female then they will call themselves superwoman. If they are transgender than they will just change their name. If they consider themselves non-binary then they won't use either of those names. No confusion there.

This seems obvious to me. I don't think anyone's saying 'X-Men is horribly sexist,' but assuming male = default is a problematic part of general speech

True either way there is no real equality so i don't think men vs women matters in x-men. We are suppose to be woke in modern times but we don't stop men from getting viagra but we all up in a woman reproductive cycle. So...

I'm just waiting for woman to launch the counterattack of viagra babies aren't real babies because men had to use something to... succeed?

Your statement implies to me you don't know what woke really is so it definitely brought out all types. In what world are we living in are we more concerned with a name like men implying both men and women but we are less pressed about the real world where men have personal freedoms women don't.

And there really are a lot of people that equate this conversation with everything they think is wrong with the world, which I find absolutely ridiculous. Why are you assuming no one cares about real world problems? You can care about both. But this kind of response always comes to this situations. If someone brought real world issues up, others complain about that, too. You know sexist language is a real world problem too, right?

So what exactly are you saying? Honestly, if people can't be bothered to care about a minor issue like this, what makes you think they'll care about any of the bigger problems you mentioned. Plenty of people in this thread are triggered by wokeness and feminism and every other bogeyman, despite X-Men preaching about equality all the time.
