Synder topping the board. I'm not a fan of BWL but can't deny he's a hit. Red Hood down to under 20k again. I wonder why?

For a Number #1 with Batman thats not particularly impressive. But it should be enough to keep the book going.

He's one of those characters that's much more popular outside comics. His comic sales don't reflect he's popularity.

Whatever drew in buyers for april, didn't work this time. I guess that undeniable edgy variant was, after all, the attracting factor.

Red Hood is stable sales wise, has been for years, and sells nicely in trades too. Why killing a sure bet, even if modest?

Yeah. The variant cover in April seems to be the reason for the increase in that month. RED HOOD OUTLAW #34 has another artist for the variant cover and the sales in May return to the regular.

I'm still surprising how some variant covers really can increase sales.

it’s amazing how Batman Beyond is still hanging on.

Giving Red Hood a new creative team seems like a bit of a no brainer at this stage. But I guess that would be tantamount to firing Lobdell. There’s really no book you could move him too.

I think they should let Lobdell at least wrap up all his current plots (Wingman, All Caste, Artemis and Bizzaro's return). Everything else would be really disappointing for the long term readers.

I'm also not really sure if you can really generate much higher sales with an Red Hood book, without either an A-List creative team or an massive push. His fanbase among comic readers is not as big as Nightwing's, who is also only selling 24K at the moment.

They launched RHatO, or forms of it, 3 times with Lobdell. He’s safe.

Sure, but that would only take three issues or so. Look how fast he wrapped up Solitary.

And there would at least be a new writer bump. And I guess you would lose the anti-Lobdell warding effect, such as it is. It’s the sort of book they should be using to grow new talent anyway, and no one needs to be on a book for eight years.

Why would it be a no brainer? As I said, the book is stable, has been for years, under Lobdell, who actually cares and nurtures the character. It has a base of readers, and we are happy with what we have got. And reviews are usually positive as well since Rebirth started. The book works. Red Hood is a C lister, he's popular, but across media, not comicwise, and he's not even that much of a popular character there: just the 'cool bad boy' guy for most of the people who know about him. Which us a pitty, but what is it.

When Johns and Fabok release their three joker story, we will see how it fares with an A-lister team. But Jason's strey probably will sell the least.

For the record: There will be a change in the creative team. The artist, Pete Woods, is leaving. The new artist hasn't been announced yet. But Kenneth Rocafort is drawing RH:O #37.

Wait, Rocafort is drawing #37? I thought he was only doing the annual.
