Spider-Gods promoting our lowly mutant books?
It's time.

"Cat Beast is the greatest form of Beast."
Lowe, I trusted you. You were the chosen one. You were supposed to wear the hat one day. Now there is no successor. Now there is no hope.

Nice stroll down memory lane. Morrison's really was a magnificent run.
Hearing all these Marvel employees talking about how great Morrison's run is, it's difficult to fathom that in actuality there is no run as despised by Marvel as this one. I can honestly think of no X-Men series that was so quicly undone, that so quickly unleashed a counter-revolution with the editorial offices.
Yeah, for some reason Quesada or anyone working at Marvel with any level of power at the time appeared there. I wonder why...
Essentially, the only thing about that run that Marvel didn't undo was Scott & Jean apart, and even then you know JDW and most people there are DYING to undo that.
This reminded me so much of how I always thought Morrison's book was exciting, but at the same time I didn't really like his take. It was an odd time.
Also, similarly, so much of what Quitely created really only should have ever been drawn by Quitely, the characters are just so tied to his style.
I loved the video. Grant Morrison's run on X-men to me is the definitive X-men run. I loved everything about it. Every issue was exciting. This video brings back so many good memories for me. I was in college when New X-men came out. There was a comic store close to the campus. I would go to the store and read the latest X-men issue in the park.
I of course loved the phoenix subplot that Morrison wrote for Jean Grey, but I also loved the issues she wasn't in. I loved Riot at Xaviers. Grant Morrison gave us a "Clockwork Orange" style X-men story. He gave us a great moment in the silent issue (hint: Jean swimming in something). He gave us cat Beast. Beast should still be a cat. The X-men should be a rescue and emergency team. I never thought they should have went back to the super hero costumes. The X-men should be something greater than that. The X-men finally had both substance and style... something that had been long missing from the books.
I am hopeful Hickman will give us a great run, but I don't think his dialogue will be half as fun as what was in New X-men. Morrison had a such a distinct voice.
