Wally West's role model for rehabilitation: Hal Jordan?

I think we'd need a huge regime change and shift in editorial for Wally to have even a chance at the kind of resurgence Hal got.

Pretty much. Green Lantern Rebirth only happened because a) Didio and b) many of the members behind Emerald Twilight either left(Dooley, O'Neil), died (Goodwin) or were no longer in a position to contest Rebirth (Carlin).

Hal got the resurgence he got because they were willing to make him the main GL again.

That is not and will not be the case for Wally. There is no prerogative among the editorial or their higher ups to promote someone who has the same superhero title as Barry Allen. ****, I'd bet you they'll be using this mini as a chance to take The Flash name from him. Just wait.
