    Default DC = Delayed Continuity

Since the DCU was originally to be aligned by the end of Doomsday Clock:

What do you think is the main reason for all delays linewide?

I think that the reboot will now happen at the end of Snyder's JL run in Dec 2020-March 2021. In a recent interview he says that the events in Doomsday Clock is being ignored. What's happening in Justice League Odyssey is kind of similar to what happen in Crisis on Infinite Earths.

At this point, I no longer care when DC reboots...or what they will publish after.

I collect so few titles...and am excited by little in the DCU.

    From the Newsrama interview:
"Nrama: So does this tie in to Doomsday Clock at all? Because we’ve seen the seeds of the Justice Society returning in Doomsday Clock

Snyder: Not really. I mean, Doomsday Clock really is its own wonderful, incredible story. The kind of light connection between them is just that, what Geoff and I talked about was because Doomsday Clock is kind of running at its own pace, what I didn’t want to do was bring the JSA back before he had a chance to reintroduce them as a concept in issue #10.

I think that’s similar with other characters that he’s going to be using in Doomsday Clock as well.

So there’s a nod to each other in that regard. I wanted him to be able to have the JSA as an idea, and have that first appearance in Doomsday Clock.

But in terms of the continuities linking up, Doomsday Clock is a very special and inspirational book. We’re all amazed, I think, at how good it is. Hopefully fans will be happy with the way things are revealed to have bigger connections later on. *"

I don't think they're ignoring it. Johns just seems to be done with "using" the JSA. I don't think he wanted them to be big players in the first place.

Bendis confirmed that to be the case: He’s not allowed to comment on Ma and Pa Kent until after Doomsday Clock when asked about how Conner remembers them and Clark spoke about Martha in Present Tense

Good to hear. I love the multiverse concept in Doomsday Clock and hope that it will be used in other books. Maybe there will be a time jump during Snyder's JL run that will incorporate some of the elements in Doomsday Clock since it's set 1 year in DC's future.

I "love" how one year is calculated on a sliding timescale.

Possibly a partial or complete reboot.

    I'm surprised nobody offered "incompetence" as a reason yet . . .

The only person higher up at DC who cares about continuity right now at DC is Johns, and he has been marginalized by Didio/Lee which is why the continuity is such a mess now in DC. As messed up as things are now I am getting to the point where I am just ready for a day one reboot and start it all over from scratch. If DC does not care about their continuity why should I?

Johns took the fall for the Justice League movie and lost his Chief Creative Officer position that he had leveraged to gain some control over DC publishing. So it's the same people behind New 52 and Convergence back on the driver's seat.

This may make me the odd man out but I don't think there's going to be a reboot. They've worked too hard over the last three years to get to here. Wherever "here" is. I don't know what the point of Doomsday Clock is but I don't see it as going anywhere. My guess is it was supposed to bring back things like the JSA and the Kents but it got delayed so long they got sick of waiting and just did those things without it. Maybe they'll be a soft reboot of some kind but I don't see any line wide changes on the horizon. For one thing, people are now expecting one. DC tends not to do it when people are expecting it. Superman will probably go back to his pre-Flashpoint history. Ditto Batman. WW will probably keep her Rebirth origin and history. Any trace of New 52 left will be removed outside of Cyborg being a founding member of the JL. People like Superman having a kid. Not my cup of tea but I appear to be in the minority. My guess is, things got held up for Doomsday Clock but here we are something like two years into it and they just got sick of putting things off. If there is going to be some sort of reboot, I doubt it will be anything significant.

Well said and I like to add the treatment of certain characters by the current regime via original Wally West and I cannot even stand where DC is headed with its Depressing Comics.

I don't know, nothing I read is at all affected by Doomsday Clock and I read quite a few DC titles. I enjoy all the titles I'm currently reading. DC is putting out some top notch stuff!

Just read what you like, and don't buy something just to "see how it fits". I want to read cool stories, not wiki pages of who is who and what is what.

It has been said there were many things that couldn't be handled / included in several comic books because of the delays in Doomsday Cluck. No mention of Carter Hall's Golden Age period with the JSA is one example. I would guess Jay Garrick's "brief" return in "The Button" (and practically immediate return to limbo after that) back in 2017 was also connected to Doomsday Cluck's delays.
