Oh snap! Interestingly Karma is not on the cover (but Magma is) but she's listed in the solicitation.

haha, why am I not surprised that Claremont would bring Kitty Pryde in. I am sure it will be good, I just thought it was so obvious that with Claremont writing that Kitty Pryde was going to appear in the book.

Am I the only one wondering if this is a good idea? It's going to be very difficult for these two to replicate their 80's alchemy. I'm also not 9 anymore. Some things are better left to the past. I hope it turns out okay!

Claremont's recent stuff has been surprisingly good. It hasn't been excessively written. So either he has made the decision to make his work more streamlined, or his editor is reining him in.

if it weren't for hickman than a claremont one-shot would be the best x-book of the year, just like one was last year

I 100% agree. Claremont, Sienkiewicz, and the New Mutants? A total triple threat.

I look forward to a great story, art, and these much-loved characters.

The former most likely since he recognized having written a bit too much in the past…

It's just a one-shot. I think the goal here is just to tell a story for the present generation to appreciate. If in the process they manage to spin straw into gold, so be it.

As for the talent, I still find myself pouring over Sienkiewicz's artwork from 30+ years ago in awe. And he still has that same legendary creative vision. (Check his 2019 gallery on his website.) No, I'm not worried in the least.
