    Default Deadpool recommendations

Hello. My friends birthday is coming up. He is a huge fan of Deadpool and I want to get him some Deadpool comics. He doesnt have a comic collection so anything I get him will be new. What are some good stories that I can get? I am not a fan of Deadpool so I know nothing about him. I thank you for any help.

The question that needs to be asked. What Deadpool is he a fan of?

Did he get into him from watching the films? If so, very specific comics follow that version of the character. Does he know DP as just a fourth-wall breaking comedy character?

Or has he expressed interest in a more dark, gritty, and serious Deadpool?

For example I loved Gerry Duggan's run on Deadpool which were volumes 3 & 4 which ran from 20012-2018. But for some who got to know DP as a comedy relief character, they hated this run because he was "too serious", and that's not what they got introduced to.

He likes them both. He enjoyed the movies and loves the comedy. But he read the darker stuff and enjoyed that as well. Just not as much as the comedy.

The good the bad and the ugly TPB, from Duggan's run favorite arc of all time personally.

Deadpool Classic vol 2 (the start of the joe kelly run - starts to define modern pool)

Deadpool Assassin TPB (best recent Pool by Bunn More Action Pool than comedy though

Deadpool: Dracula's Gauntlet (for good adventure/comedy)

Uncanny X-Force Rick Remender or Uncanny Avengers by Duggan for team Pool action.

Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe or Night of the living Deadpool for self contained AU stories.
Current Pull: Amazing Spider-Man and Domino

    Bunn for Deadpool's Main Book!

Deadpool By Posehn & Duggan Omnibus - contains the full deadpool vol.3
Deadpool Minibus Volume 1-2 - collects all the deadpool miniseries (there is a volume 0 collected all the mini-series involving deadpool)

There are other interresting run and collected books, but with that it's a good good start.

There is a Joe Kelly Complete Collection paperback coming out soon. That is my suggestion.

Cable and Deadpool by Nicieza can be easily found in trades or digital.

Deadpool by Duggan and Posehn followed by the next volume, written solely by Duggan.

Cullen Bunn's "Living Deadpool" minis as well as "Assassin"

    Rick Remender's Uncanny X-Force.

The good the bad and the ugly TPB by Duggan is the best Deadpool story for me.
